    Barrel Chop Screwed Up Accuracy

I do not. I sent it off to my machinist as part of another experiment to see if he can match the chamber and action threads without sending in my action. I'll have some answers, to if that works or not, in the next month or so.

    Barrel Chop Screwed Up Accuracy

@StupidLightweight CFE still wouldn't make the barrel shoot, it's FUBAR. New barrel incoming.

    Browning A-Bolt Barrel Swap?

Mine is an A-bolt II made in 1994 and has 20tpi threads. I'm not sure what year they changed the action threads to 32tpi.

    Browning A-Bolt Barrel Swap?

'94 if the serial number decoder on the browning website is correct.

    Browning A-Bolt Barrel Swap?

Removed this stainless a-bolt II barrel in my garage no problem. The plan was to rebarrel with one of the cheapish factory barrels from midwestgunworks but turns out my action is 20tpi and the barrels at midwest are 32tpi. Not sure what year browning decided to change up their action threads...

    Barrel Chop Screwed Up Accuracy

I was finally able to pick up some cfe223 locally to try a different powder. Unfortunately life is currently getting in the way and will probably not get to shoot again for another 3 weeks or so.

    Browning Xbolt— is ReBarreling possible?

^^^ what @Formidilosus said. If you're just looking to replace a barrel and need action threads cut, you can look for a machinist in your local area. If you can find one that's also a shooting hobbyist chances are they can cut a better barrel then most so called smiths. (Cheaper too)

    Browning Xbolt— is ReBarreling possible?

Yes, I've removed a few x-bolt barrels by myself in my garage and screwed on prefits with zero issues. NO reason any half way decent smith can't do it with the proper tools.

DiY New Zealand Chamois and Tahr

@Cactus kid is spot on with all the important stuff. As far as the firearms permit goes, they want you to come hunt and they will do every thing they can to help you get approved. Apply early and stay in touch with the approval office along the way, they will tell you if any changes need to be...

    Barrel Chop Screwed Up Accuracy

Still no good, but this time around there seemed to be an actual central group with some scattered outliers instead being completely random. The way it 'grouped' I'll try a different powder before chopping another inch off.

    Barrel Chop Screwed Up Accuracy

@longrange13, I’ve chopped a handful of barrels using just a hacksaw and a facing/crowning tool to square up the muzzle. All remained very consistent in accuracy except one. The ‘one’ is a factory cz 527 varmint chambered in 223. Started out at 24” shooting a ragged hole at 100 yards off bench...

OFFICIAL Peterson Cartridge Customer Support Thread

Any chance of 7mm WSM being made? There is zero out on the market now and plenty of people seam to be searching for it and wanting it. Possibly a good opportunity for Perterson to make something no one else is. What would a minimum order for a group buy be to make it happen, or is there no...

    7mm-08 and 162 ELD-M

@Pharmseller, how did that 150 eld-x perform for you terminally? I just recently shot a decent sized stag (500ish lbs, so not as big as your elk) with the 150 eld-x and felt like I'd prefer a bullet to stay together and penetrate a bitter deeper before coming apart. Obviously the bullet did...

    Calculating backcountry miles

@ozyclint done and done! 14 days in the back country and my knees are still stiff. Crazy how going 600-800 yards can end up taking 1.5+ hours.
