Zebralight all day every day over Surefire. I used to love Surefire, but they've done practically nothing over the last 5-10 years in terms of innovation.
Sorry, you're correct, althought it still varies by retailer. Moosejaw, which has brick and mortar stores, still won't sell Arcteryx online, REI on the other hand is still selling online.
I don't know what part of BC you're in, but Arcteryx has a brick and mortar outlet store in North Vancouver. I don't think you'll find any deals online anymore, especially since they stopped allowing retailers to sell online.
Just wrapping up the first season with my Briksdal MTN's and have 75 miles on them. I'm getting a little separation on one boot right in the toe flex zone, but otherwise they're OK. My Kenetrek's do the same, so I'm not too worried yet.
As an aside, these are the cheapest feeling pair of $500...
Universal Gun Bearer on the hip belt, but instead of slinging it under the arm just strap the top to the side of the pack. It's the best combo I've found for both my SG and Exo pack.
That's mainly because the DWR coating is not great from the factory and stops beading water pretty quickly. It'll still keep you dry, but the fabric does get noticeably "soaked" and as mentioned above, results in the jacket becoming less breathable. I need to try retreating mine this fall...
I hunt Western WA for bear and hit the east side of the state for upland bird. Kenetrek Mountain Extreme's have been great for me. The 10" upper gets a little warm early season, but as we get into later fall I prefer the taller height. There's not a boot out there that's got a sole that's...
I'd like to pick up an Alpacka raft but am looking for input on size. I'm 6'3 and 230lbs... This raft will be a pack raft in the truest sense. Main use would be backpacking in and fishing alpine lakes but I'd also like the ability to float/cross some easy rivers to access some more remote...
So you're cool with commercial sales of a public resource that you need no license to find and pay nothing in order to sell? What if we apply the same logic to mushrooms, salmon, shellfish, crab, wood forest products?? Everyone should be able to sell those carte blanche?
Don't count on the courts in this state to overturn anything. Remember the whole capital gains/income tax debacle? That was supposed to be a slam dunk court case and look how that turned out...
Oh shoot, I just saw Perry boot and thought the original Christy sole, didn't even know they came out with the Hybrid with a different sole, that sole looks a lot better suited for terrain but I still think the boot has some drawbacks. I know Russell Mocs are legendary in the bird hunting...
I own two pairs of Perry's, they're great on concrete, but slicker than snot on dirt. I also bird hunt and personally wouldn't wear them. Comfortable though, yes!
