Nothing but good things to say about the K4. Packed multiple animals off mountains with it. That said, if I draw a moose tag in Alaska, I will be buying a Barney's pack...
Took an archery moose there back in 2018. It was literally easiest country that I've big game hunted in. I did not bust out the trekking poles for the pack out. That said, if you're good with the weight, it wouldn't hurt.
Anyone have any recommendations on patches to use on rain gear? My Yukon pants had a rough go of it in Alaska and have tears and punctures in them now. Only use in Alaska once a year and don’t want to outright buy a new pair.

I pack neoprene knee sleeves on my pack for heavy pack outs. However, I’ve heard good things about the Bauerfiend GenuTrain. May be worth taking a look at.
It was a week of tough hunting. Dry and hot temperatures were brutal. Only bucks seen were 1800+ feet of elevation. Seems like deer numbers are down. None the less, after many miles of hiking, I was able to tag out.
Question for those in the thread, I used Citric Acid in southeast Alaska last year and had some meat loss from spoilage. I tried to keep it circulated and had it covered but the humidity was so damn high I could not keep it dry. I am going back and contemplating bringing gear to build a better...
