6mm /.243 hunting success on Big Game

Same here. After seeing what that bullet did to a cow moose I yanked the 7RM barrel off my tikka, threaded on a 20" 6PRC and will never look back. What velocity are you getting with the AI?

    Post hunt etiquette: Splitting/sharing meat

Resurrecting this to add another dynamic... let's say you shoot a big critter solo and team up with others for a "meat cutting party." Elk and moose are big critters and goes much quicker even with one extra set of hands. I think whoever filled the tag should take the majority but I like to...

    September Truck must haves

    - Breaker bar I wouldn't rely on the impact alone for lugs unless it's a big one. Comes in handy as a lever for random things as well. - Road flares - Noco jump box. Cables are only good when you're not alone.

New Arctic Oven: the Nunatak Apex

Was looking at them in the store today and thought it was odd that the display didn't have the Vapex lining installed. I asked some questions and the rep mentioned it didn't go all the way to the bottom but sounds like it's shy by quite a bit. Not sure if/when they'll release an updated version.

Anybody use a bugle tube to call moose?

Bugle tube mouth end is too narrow. Think megaphone vs trumpet. You're not using a reed when calling moose so you need something to simply project your voice.

    New Iron Will Vanes??

Just fletched some of their originals to try and Gorilla super glue holds fine on RIP TKO shafts. That said these vanes definitely hiss more than my Q2i 4 fletch setup.

Tundra trekking poles - which feet?

X2 on extras. Last year I had to wrap 550 cord and tape it to help prevent my poles from punching 18 inches into the tundra after I lost my tips. Tried a flat rock on the bottom with gorilla tape to make a foot that was a horrible idea.

Anyone pulling an enclosed trailer with a midsize V6?

Not many people think about how important the weight of a tow vehicle is. Just because a half ton is rated to pull 12k doesn't mean it's smart. If a big rig passes you just right or a side wind hits that sail of a trailer, you're going to feel it idc if you have sway control or not.

    Sawyer Squeeze bags

I actually put a pin hole in 2 of my cnoc bags near the spout on the edge of where the material thickens. That said I squeezed the crapcout of them for 5 or so years before an issue which was probably from bending and putting a lot of tension on that area while full. A dab of silicone and theyre...
