    Yet another tuning question....

“Errant fliers” - will be repeatable if you have a bad arrow or component. Mark that arrow when it happens. If it’s not repeatable it’s your form. If your peep is turning it’s not in your string properly and will always be an issue, pretty easy fix (move more strands of string to other side of...

    Yet another tuning question....

A lot going on here - did you confirm timing after you changed cables/string? If not get that in spec before doing anything else. Also something to note - you should always measure your new strings/cables before putting them on and confirm they are in spec. Your comment about needing a ton of...

    The 22 creedmoor thread

Thanks for all the info shared on this thread everyone - appreciate the no BS info! Been kicking the can down the road for a few years waiting to build one, so I can kick my 22-250 habit. Ordered a few hundred rounds of 80gr eldm today - will use 100 to break in the barrel right away and then...

    Adding foc changing spine?

Difficult to tune - less forgiving if you do get it tuned are your symptoms. Basically it takes your arrow more time/distance to correct/stabilize in flight.

    Adding foc changing spine?

A 300 spine with 50gr insert would be more ideal at 28-29”.

    Spine help?

340s are getting weak past 27-28” @ 70lbs. 300s are getting weak at 29/30” and 70lbs. I have better luck tuning going with the stiffer option…

Most Reliable New 250/2500 Series Truck

w Consider yourself lucky! 2014 didn’t make it past 30k it was a lemon and the 2018 had over $15k in warranty work done before 100k miles. Everything was suspension/transmission/u-joint related. Trucks prior to that didn’t really need much work until 150-200k miles, which is expected.

Does a slider type sight work for all bow speeds

No issues with that draw length. I set up a spot hog 3 pin for 60lbs 25” draw for the wife. I believe it maxes out at 70-80 yards (housing hits fletchings).

Most Reliable New 250/2500 Series Truck

All of them will you leave you stranded/go into limp mode at the worst time. You will want a good warranty. GM and Ford are pretty much the same anymore. Big difference is suspension (independent vs solid). I wouldn’t rate one more reliable than the other, they just have different minir...

    Balancing sleep with time hunting

What I have found works for me is having a very comfortable place to get good sleep, good meals and being efficient. Prepping daily food bags and taking premade food for supper makes a huge difference. I can get back to camp at 10:30 and be in bed by 10:45 with my pack loaded/coffee prepped...

    Quick Tips Archery Elk

Don’t be lazy and always use the wind - be willing to take the harder/longer route to get the wind in your favor - no short cuts. This is the mistake I see 9/10 hunter making.

    Broadhead tuning

You’re not but 400s are starting to get weak with his arrow set up. 350 is more forgiving.

    Broadhead tuning

ATA is measured at rest. Simple axle to axle measurement. I’m not 100% sure what the actual tolerance is for center shot, but it’s more than you think. If you move the rest too far it should look weird and way off to one side (arrow no where near straight with string/cams). Just remember you...

    Broadhead tuning

Hard to find a good bow shop! Without a draw board you can try having someone record your draw (slow motion if needed). Want both stops to hit at the same time, if they can’t be perfect have the top a fuzz ahead. ATA will confirm cables/strings all are in spec. This is the biggest tuning...

    Broadhead tuning

Don’t second guess yourself - broad heads always right means it’s just not tuned. I have messed with different grips etc and that doesn’t prevent you from tuning, just prevents you from shooting well. Your arrow spine is good and your broadheads are good based on what you have shared. Your...

    Broadhead tuning

When broadhead tuning I look for consistency and don’t adjust until I see it. That takes me out of the equation. If I shoot a few rounds and my broadhead is always low then I adjust. All over the place and it’s my fault. If you are off 3” at 20 yards I would expect 6” at 40. Shoot at 30/40...

    Broadhead tuning

I agree with the post above about shimming cams for this model. What distance are you 2-3” right? FYI if you are shooting correctly you should keep hitting further right the further the distance.

Is this tree suitable for a hang on stand? How would you hunt this spot?

One piece of advice I would give for an area like that is to use a decoy during the rut. I like them for open areas/large funnels where calling won’t pull them into archery range.

How do you handle windy days?

If it’s blowing hard all night/day, I just take the day off. Days where it’s only windy mid day, but you can’t hear well, I find a good glassing spot and try to be in a good position when it lays down at sunset.
