The CPW commission, just yesterday 1/8, also denied the petition to pause the reintroduction program even though the CPW director all but admitted that at least one of the wolves released last December meets the commission's own definition of a chronic depredation. Pressure from the governor's...
I have been using minimalist/barefoot shoes for the past 8 years or so. My favorite boot is the original Lem's boulder boot as an every day boot. I have hunted in the Lem's primal pursuit mid but it's discontinued. For hunting the Lem's boulder summit or boulder grip are a good waterproof...
Contact Bob Holder. He's the game warden in the area, been here for decades. He traps the problem bears around Trinidad and takes them out to the Bosque. Take out a peanut butter and jelly sandwich at lunch time. The bears will find you.
If burning the flag is a constitutional right of freedom of expression, then so is flying the flag from a construction crane and truck. The fact that the park manager took the side of some Karen, probably not an American Karen, is egregious.
About a 3rd of the way thru my second reading of...
As others have said, it depends on where and when. I hunt mostly in Colorado and don't typically use rain pants. Have a jacket for afternoon thunderstorms. You might also consider gaiters. They are handy for morning dew/frost and after a rain storm when brush is wet. The work pretty well...
My sleep system, stove/cook kit and tent(trekking pole tent or hammock) are the same for hiking vs. hunting. Everything else is different. Hiking with lighter pack, lighter shoes/boots, lighter clothes, no weapon, no kill kit, etc. Ounces add up to pounds and pounds add up to pain on long...
Just had a water heater replaced in a rental property I own. Located in Southern Colorado. $1500 all in, including water heater, labor, new shut-offs, pan, permit.
Listened to the podcast. One of the CPW folks mentioned the perception of archery being over-crowded is the expectation that you should see less people in the back country during archery seasons vs rifle.
I think the perception that there are more archery hunters is the rapid growth of...
Cold soaking is becoming more popular in the backpacking/thru-hiking crowd. Lots of info on various backpacking sites. Takes some planning to re-hydrate meals to be ready at meal time. It can take 30 minutes to an hour+ to re-hydrate meals. Tons of recipes out there...
Buy good brushes for cut in, trim and window sashes. Wash them out when they start getting dried out toward the middle/upper part of the bristles. +1 on good paint and caulk.
I got back into riding about 10 years ago after a 25 year layoff. Do a mix of commuting, trails, moto-camping/adventure riding.
Firstly, take a Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MFS) course in your area. Some offer dirt bike courses as well. This will get you the basics of motorcycle...
Got this one from Costco about 5 years ago.

Wife and I use it regularly in all seasons and have been pleased. We are in the mountains at 9k ft. It heats well even in very cold temps. You...
My dad was a butcher for over 40 years. Processed tons of wild game, beef, pork, lamb, etc. He and every butcher or processor I've seen use the Victorinox 6" semi stiff boning knife as their primary go to knife for skinning, boning, and breaking down an animal. Use what the pros use. Also...
Best option would be to bury off trial a ways. Less likely to have another hiker or hunt stumble into you stash. Really wouldn't be too worried about a bear finding it. I'd probably opt to run it thru my water filter when I recover it as well to take care of any possible contamination issues...
Maybe some saddlebag racks and soft luggage, tail rack for a duffle or get some rackless luggage, i.e. giant loop, mosko moto, wolfman, etc. Can throw in some light weight camping gear, backpack, for some moto camping.
Colorado gets considerably less blue once you get away from the front range. Also considerably tougher to make a living in your field in a smaller town.
