I have a VXR 31.5 and love it! I am not someone that buys a new bow every year and my last bow was 7 years old, but after shooting all the different bow brands I liked the Mathews VXR the best.
Yes I take several different fire starters. 2 knives and three headlamps. I got lost one night when my headlamp got wet and shorted out. Now I carry two black diamond waterproof headlamps and one Petzl e light.

Congratulations on the new llamas. Those are good looking girls. I also pack with females and I have trained several girls around the 5 year range that have never packed before. It can take a while to get them conditioned enough to pack longer miles but its a fun process.
I also use grain or pellets to lure them into an enclosed shelter that I built. It is 12x24. Once inside there they are easy to train and halter. I have one llama that I cant lure in with food though so if I want to catch her I tie a long rope to one corner of the barn and walk a circle...
