    We just sold our e-caller- just have better success with hand calls and diaphragms. It is just so much easier to adapt to circumstances. We had a foxpro fury and no complaints, other than we prefer and have more success with reeds and diaphragms. It is awesome to hunt together!!

    Forgot to add that the second cat was larger, probably this one's mother.But a bird in the hand... or a cat in the crosshairs... We discovered later that there had been a couple cows reported killed by cougar just two - 3 weeks prior, about half a mile away from where I shot this one.

    I use my Savage Youth Axis 243 for most things. The hides around here don't get that great so not too worried about that. I don't even change my ammo. I've gotten everything from a 350# bear to a bobcat with it. LOVE that gun- use Federal Fusion ammo, 160 grain I think. Didn't blow up my bobcat...

    I hate when states do this!! Basically by making it inconvenient or burdensome they are protecting the cougars. I feel that Washington state is in the business of protecting not managing predators. Big pretty cat! I would have shot it, but I understand your reasoning as well.
