Yes I believe so. Model # is in the picture 40428. In the manual it does say “HD” coating …high durable coating and there’s a little Geovid HD booklet in the case.
You nailed my concern c&b. All the pictures online of tents in fast fly look like there is a good 3 or more inches of open space that I have no idea if you can cinch down to the ground or not like the tipis.
Haha, yeah I don't plan on sleeping on the top of the mountain....especially not in a damn near hurricane. I should have said 2 person shelters. I know I won't get anywhere close to the space of the big tipi's. Thanks for the feedback, I'll check out the elixir.
Yeah Hilleberg is outta my price range. I think there are quite a few options at sub 3lbs when you don't count the weight of the actual interior tent. Many are sub $400 tents I just don't know how hard any of them are to pitch without it.
I love my Golite SL5 but and am sold on floorless, at least for Alaska where I hunt. I am looking to pick up a freestanding tent since the SL5 can be a bit of a pain to pop up and guy our properly when the weather turns to crap fast. I don't intend to use the inner tent/next very frequently...
Haha, no I was avoiding the AK forum and trying here first. Based on the massive amount of non-sense and know it alls on the AK forum I was trying my luck here first. Little less of a gamble on this site.
This may be a bit pre-mature as I'm still waiting for decisions from two guys. Time isn't really on my side so I'll throw up this long shot anyhow. Long story short, I don't have a partner and I have a plane booked for the Brooks range out of Fairbanks. Unfortunate circumstances beyond...
Can't speak to cabelas, I use ORs paclite and like it. It is loud and not terribly durable if busting brush tore some holes in my ankles last year in scrub brush. Would have been fine if I wore gaiters.
Yep used em. Haven't carried them recently as I didn't feel like lugging the extra 1/2lb since I haven't had an experience yet where I really needed them. Suppose if I stop carrying them long enough I'll regret it that one time. I used the tyvek, filled a 5 gallon bucket with 3 or 4 tea bags...
