    There are several loads that the 280ai is within 80 to 50 fps. Especially since most people seem to be 150 to 200 below factory advertised speed.

    Thin barrels and small scopes definitely appear to be the way to save weight. Pretty tough to put a light weight rifle together that you can take to the range and shoot without melting the barrel.

    A lot of good input here. I would agree that if you already have a 7mm rem mag, only reason to switch to 7PRC would be if you wanted a new rifle. Same thing with 300 win mag vs 300PRC. The PRC rounds are updated versions. All that said, if looking for a general do it all North America rifle...
