    Thoughts on age?

Agree with the 3.5s. He has potential to be a stud, but shoot what makes you happy!

    2023 Whitetail Meat Pole

12yo Son's first deer. Put many hours on stand throughout the week and patiently waited for a good shot. When the opportunity arose, he put it right where it needed to be. Proud Dad and son.

    Arctic Shield Boot?

I use uninsulated Danner leather boots. Put the Arctic Shield boot covers on immediately when I sit down in my stand. Throw a small hand warmer pack in each. Really works well for me. Located in Nebraska.

    Whitetail outerwear

First Lite for me. I wear Wick bottoms, Prana Zions, and Solitude bibs for temps 50ish and under. Full length bib leg zips are a key for the walk in. Top is Wick top, Klamath 1/4 zip, Source jacket if it's colder out, topped off with the Solitude jacket. This setup has worked really well...

I was in a similar situation. I went with a Diamond Edge. It has been perfect as he's continued to grow.

    Slick trick broadheads

I've used the 1 1/8" magnums for many years. I've used them for whitetail & elk. I bought a bunch of them about 6-7 years ago. I certainly won't run out any time soon, and have no plans to switch.

    Need Single Pin sight recommendations!

Spot Hogg Fast Eddie (double vertical pin). Full disclosure, this is the only single pin / slider sight I've used, but I love it. I've used Spot Hogg sights for 15 years, and they are truly built to tight tolerances and high quality materials.

    Matthews VXR owners- Any dislikes

So far, very happy. I've only had mine for a month, but still have shot daily. Overall, no complaints. Coming from an Alphamax 35, the draw cycle is definitely different, but it was very easy to adjust to. I went with the 31.5, and the string angle is fine.

    The Oldest Bucks

Central Nebraska - We've shot an 8.5y/o buck, verified by cementum annuli aging. Had history with him for 5 years. He finally slipped up in his old age. His rack 'peaked' score-wise at 5.5 (probably 150ish) and shrunk quite a bit over his next few years. Gross ~134. He was still the 'one'...

    Recommend a Hinge release?

Are you guys hunting with a hinge? I've always been a index release shooter. I decided that I was going to combat my TP head on. Therefore, I've been shooting a hinge since my whitetail season ended and have really become better, still have LOTS of work to get to where I want to be. I'm not...

    Nebraskan FNG

Hello! Long time member first time poster - I was an avid bowhunter for many years and veered off the road to other addictions (fly fishing and kid sports!) but have recently jumped right back in where I left off. Mainly whitetail and turkey hunt in Nebraska. Hope to get back into Western...
