Do it. I’m pushing 70 now and never did it. I regret it. Some of us are born with “yondering” gene and “don’t fence me in” heart. Don’t listen to the naysayers and locals who just want it all to themselves. Their families did what you are contemplating…they just did it before you did.

So I have jumped on the TIKKA bandwagon in a big way (for me anyway) in the last few months.
At the beginning of the year I didn’t own a TIKKA, NOW?:
Fun part? Not one of those barreled actions is in the factory stock. Last night I switched them around…putting my heaviest caliber (.308) in the...
My first TIKKA was .308. Stainless Roughtech. I had it cut to 17.5 inches.
Sighted it in and then tried a cold bore three shot group.
I like it. First shot cold bore was the right down Main Street lol…
Ditto. I have bought my first mil scope. SWFA 3-15 gen 2.
My first impression is that it’s too big to hunt with…but I’m gonna try it on my TIKKA .223. Give it a chance. But I’m also thinking I need a good ol lightweight 2 nd focal plane duplex with holdovers lol. Sight it in at 250 and if I need...
So I have a LNIB SIG CROSS .308…it’s a really nice gun. Good shooter. Folding stock. Etc.
But I have several .308’s and I’m not really a chassis guy. I prefer more traditional gun stocks as I’m a hunter who shoots, not vice versa.,,plus I’m just more comfortable behind a stock. So I’m thinking...
Sorry, I didn’t know barrels were not available for export? Maybe that explains why I can’t find all the wonderful 93 aftermarket barrels hpmr was describing?
Sadly, my 93 has been in the back of the safe while I have gone down the RSS rabbit hole in the last year or so. Bolt action TIKKA’s in .223 and the like, gunsmithing expenses for chopping and threading barrels and new suppressors have occupied my time (and bank account lol) for a while now...
I thoroughly enjoyed this thread and much kudos to you. You are obviously a very talented (and patient) craftsman. I must confess envy of your skill and my R-93 and I are drooling over your carbon fiber stock. The comb of a Rokstok on my R-93!!
That makes me wonder…if you ever want to get rid of...
Holy thread revival lol…but I bought one of these V-TACS years ago largely based on Tony’s review. Honestly it got zeroed and put in the safe waiting for a coyote hunting trip that never happened. A few months ago I came across the infamous “.223” thread and now I have fallen deeply into the RSS...
Question…I have ended up with a CTR stock with a mag marked .223.
I have a CTR .260 Rem barrel. What donor actions should I look for…well, besides the .260? And will a .308/.260 mag fit in the bottom metal I have?
I’m new to all this plug and play lol…
I want to end up with CTR in .260 rem…
Any chance I could get a little help on all the money Rokslide has cost me in the last few months?
Reading a few of the epic forum post strings here has cost me a LOT of money in the last few months lol…
A few months ago I didn’t own a Tikka…now:
And this doesn’t include the Maven/SWFA optics...
