I've been using My Fitness Pal for 4 years. The free version. I'll sometimes go a month or two without using it, but tracking everything I eat is the only way I've found to keep my weight from creeping up.
I've seen three rattlesnakes in Wyoming, two were in September and the other was in October, if I remember correctly. They never seemed too aggressive though, even though a couple times we nearly stepped on them.
With only 4 points you might want to apply in the special draw. You'll be able to draw an area with plenty of public land to hunt. In the regular draw, you won't have many good options.
Do you eat a lot of carbs, like bread and pasta? Or beer? Those are most likely the cause of your gout, not the meat. They just like to blame it on meat.
Dry kibble is garbage. Not real food. I don't blame dogs for not wanting to eat it. My dog gets lots of eggs and real meat with a tiny bit of dry dog food mixed in.
Actually a big benefit is also getting proper nutrition, which you don't get from the standard American diet. Weight loss is really just a secondary benefit that comes from being healthy.
Roads are good in that area so I really don't think you need a side by side. I just hunted there last November and we got around just fine in a pickup, and never even used 4 wheel drive.
But that's because there's no way to know until after the draw happens how many points it's going to take. Lots of people with points who don't apply every year and nobody knows when a significant number of those people might decide to jump in.
Weird, I've had zero issues eating steak every day for the last 4 years.
(Or actually I should say "meat," as I don't have steak every day. Sometimes hamburger, chicken, pork, salmon, etc.)
