Rookie looking for OTC advice in CO

I'm shooting a #50 Bear Supermag. It's prob more like #47 at my draw. I'm shooting a 504gr Goldtip traditional 500spine arrow cut to 28" with 225 upfront. Not sure what head I would use. For whitetail I've got the 4 blade Magnus stingers. Ones with replacement blades. I've really wanted to...

    New Plan For 2017

Good luck, only suggestion I have from watching my dad hunt with his xbow is to practicing stalking and shooting. It's much more difficult to maneuver than you think. Also, it's heavier than a typical lever gun. He also had a learning curve stalking with the xbow because it's wide instead of...

Thanks for the advice. Justin I'll send you a PM. I'm open to any units in southern Colorado, any suggestions? I know it's going to be tough to pack this thing out (should I be lucky enough). Especially by myself. How much meat boned out should I plan for? 300#? That'd be atleast three trips...

Hello guys, I'm a rookie elk hunter (never been actually) from oklahoma. I'm a season whitetail hunter and I'm hoping to do an otc either sex hunt next September. I'd like to keep it not too far from Trinidad. Mostly because I figure the closer it is to home the more likely I am to be able to...

Hello all! I came across this forum while searching for info on DIY elk archery hunting. Seemed like knowledgeable folks, so I'm really hoping to learn a lot from you guys. If I can get myself figured out I'm going to try and do a solo OTC in Colorado in mid September. I'm a pretty experienced...
