Brady Miller had a good one posted on Go Hunt a while back if you are a subscriber. I am sure you could search it up. Has a bunch of different tabs for pack weight, nutrition etc…

I have a local butcher who if I ask nicely will usually give up a few pounds of beef fat. But I do find that a bit more challenging to source.
Pork fat I generally just use belly or a really fatty shoulder, unless I can find some good back fat. Belly you can find almost anywhere from your...
Interesting, I was actually happy with the sentence. We so often hear about poaching cases with very minor restitution, probation, hunting privilege loss for a couple of years etc.
Four years in prison (likely two years in and two probation) along with a felony wrap sheet will impact him every...
Damn. I had it in my back way back in my 20’s which is pretty young for shingles, and it sucked. Super painful. Glad it is not as painful for you. Shitty way to cut a hunt short. Sorry that happened.

Freeze the shank and cross cut them with a bone saw or sawsall (unless you have a band saw) in my opinion grinding shank meat is a real shame.

My wife makes meatballs with an Asian glaze sometimes which the kids like.
Always good for a simple meat sauce with pasta, or if you’re willing to do the work, lasagna.
Not sure about the snack sticks. I have never been a fan of ground meet sticks, but I am sure someone has an option here...
I cannot speak to bobwhites, but my son raised Japanese quail for a while as a 4H project. We just used a couple different rabbit hutch setups. They were pretty forgiving. We bought incubator and started hatching our own which was really fun. They did ok on the triple digit days here in...
Just received a very similar survey from SD today as well. Interesting.
I am guessing a 3rd party/contractors coordinates some of this stuff and then markets it to different G&F departments to use.

I will give those a shot. I pushed a bit harder on the Step-ups/squats than I had in previous years. But not to any extreme.
I am thinking it be exacerbated by the long drives, intense exercise and then long drive after. That is created by road trip/mountain hunts.
Maybe some increased...
More on my right than my left, but both. I have had a bursitis injury before and it seems different than that.
When I had a bursitis injury I had fluid in my knee and it hurt to kneel on it etc. This is a little different for me as the area is not really tender, it just hurts when I sit/stand...
After my first elk hunt this year I started to experience pain in the tendon of what I would consider the top of my knees.
In all my years of hiking and pack outs, I have never experienced this issue. I let my knees rest for a week and when I did some squats after that week it feels like it...
Here in California the state kills more lions now than we ever did when we had a hunting season back in the 80’s. No doubt it would be the same in CO.
The logic (or lack of) boggles my mind.

So far this year I have taken a cow elk and pronghorn with the 199 absolute hammers (I think they changed the name on these recently).
Cow elk was at 423 it was an angling to shot entering her left shoulder and I found the bullet and one petal on the top of her right rear quarter. I pulled the...
Once you see terms like “majestic” in a piece, you know it’s junk. If you do not have facts on your side, tug at heartstrings.

I had never seen mule tape. You use it instead of paracord? I hate how paracord digs into some trees during bear hangs. I wonder if this would work better.

It’s my understanding it’s compounded in many different forms as it’s used in a ton of different industries. It’s not like ordering a tote of sugar. Getting a manufacturer to retool any make a different form is likely an expensive and high risk proposition. Also the recreational market is a drop...
I have a call in to the office, but figured I would touch on everyone’s experience here.
I am looking forward to my first hunt in Nevada, and it appears Nevadas trespass laws are a bit different than what I am used to.
#1 - Private land that is not marked with no-trespass signs, flagged with...
I am sure the secrecy had as much to do with avoiding a lawsuit by PETA or DOW that would halt the cull vs just fear of pissing off hunters.
It sucks but as hunters we are really bad at cow/doe management. Hell think of the “Earn a buck” programs in eastern states. We claim is about wildlife...
