The other nice thing about Montana is you can be successful even if you aren’t in the best of shape.
Montana has a 5 week rifle season that is throughout the rut. Easy to make it work for a groups schedule plus you might get lucky with cold, snow etc.
Montana 25% of non res tags go to applications with zero points.
You can hunt deserts to mountains. Mule deer or whitetail. I know you said you are looking for a muley hunt but you never know when you will run across a big whitie.
1. TBAC 338 Ultra. It is great on my 22 Creed. So I ordered another.
2. MDT Triple Pull Ckye pod. Extremely versatile. I used it on a deer and lope hunt. Both of these bucks were killed in rushed situations because of the speed and elevation the triple allows. One was about 440 yards the other...
Lots of factors. Velocity, RPM’s, bullet, shot placement, etc.
As long as I don’t get a fringe hit it’s pretty fur friendly with the 52 Berger Match or 53 Vmax.
80.5 and 85.5 Bergers leave a giant hole if hit in the guts.
Western Edge makes solid packs. My kid used one and had zero issues.
I use a couple custom accessories. While cinching down a load I’ve never torn webbing out of the stitching. I feel like that’s where I put the most force besides the belt and shoulder straps.
I have had webbing tear out on...
I have both. I can’t say one is better than the other. There are a few killers here. One uses FP, a couple use LD.
It’s the hunter more than it is the call.
And if one brand is popular in the area you hunt I would buy the other brand.
It’s important. I can’t stand half mil windage marks. When I am splitting the target which is narrower than half a mil and neither mark is on the target it’s annoying.
When it comes to hunting I’m not worried about a bold reticle. I’ve not once not been able to kill something because I...
I’m dense so I guess I don’t know what you mean.
You are a mod on a website that makes money off of hunting. Should the owners donate every cent they make above the operating costs? Or is it fine if they make money off of hunting?
Kind of a joke. I’ll try to put a winky face or something like...
So someone gets paid for a big animal and the animal dies.
Or someone poaches the big animal and the animal dies.
At least some young guy can make some money and the animal is killed legally.
If looking for an average I would look in your market. If the average out west is $175 but the average in the east is $125. I think it would be hard to get $175 in the east and not smart financially to charge $125 in the west.
I was assuming it would be like the ND match which it sounds like it is from a terrain perspective.
These are definitely confidence boosting matches compared to the ones out west with steeper terrain.
I might do the Iowa match. It’s 10ish hours. So not horrible. I like the matches out west with bigger/steeper country. But a lot of them are even further than Iowa.
