What was your second and third choices on your permit application? One thing you might consider, is surrendering your tag and apply for a better area, next year.
I layer a super light weight fleece vests under a light weight puffy vest, and then cover that with a super light fleece jacket and hip-length rain jacket. If it's below freezing and blowing like mad, I'll wear a light weight puffy jacket over everything and then encase myself in the long rain coat.
I doubt it. When I buy new Invernos every other year, they usually don't show wear until I've put 20 or 30 miles of Alaska terrain behind me. I doubt that 40 or 50 miles of asphalt and concrete is going to do much.
That's a bummer. Not sure what to do about that. Made me think, though. I shoot bare bow, so that's not something I'm worried about, personally. But I feel for you, man. Somebody is sure to chime in with a remedy, though.
