I ran a dozen rip xv's this summer to get more distance for TAC events. I found them to be way too brittle for a hunting arrow. It didn't take much to break them. on one shot I center punched a 1 inch limb at about 40 yards and the arrow shattered. I run RIP TKO's with iron will steel HIT's with...
I have a rebel and a summit. I size on the rebel and seat on the summit. I dont think I'd use a summit as my only press, I would go with the rebel. The rebel has tons of room inside the 0 for your hands and large ammo and has more qualified surfaces than the rockchucker so its supposed to be...
The factory 108 eldm was doing 2720-2750 from the 22 inch bartlein's I chambered. Its a cool little round for sure. I chambered one in 22 Monday load development with 88 eldm and 90 gr a tips this week.
To try to diagnose ballistic app errors we have to know all your inputs and the environmentals from when you were shooting.
Also what app and what chronograph were you using?
If you are an entire mil off at 1k you have a bad input somewhere. I can't think of anyone who has their bc's that far...
I really like my FHF harness. It is low profile which is great for bow hunting. I run a range finder pouch on the right side and a kestrel on the left if I am rifle hunting.
I know some people over at vista outdoor and once the world settles down I'm going to talk to one of the GT product managers and see if there is anything going on with these or if they are just weaker than some of their other arrows.
Just saw this, I got a dozen airstrike 340's and have broken 4 of them already. 2 I hit wood and they exploded into 4-5 pieces. The other 2 I barely shafted in a target and when I flexed them they snapped like a twig.
I really like GT but I dont like these arrows. I thought they would be bomber...
I will preface this to say I have several down bags already. A marmot 30 and 0 and a lafuma 50.
I am interested in a Katabatic flex series in either the 15 or 22. I am a cold sleeper to begin with my 30 degree is a marmot never winter which is an older 650 fill bag. I want to upgrade to the...
One thing to add, to the mix, it looks like you are using winchester primers which are horribly soft. I get flat primers with light loads with winchester primers. CCI are pretty hard primers and federal are in the middle I just use fed match primers for everything now. They are soft enough to go...
I'm wondering if you got your bolt back or it possibly got swapped with a different customer. Is it stamped with the S/N from who ever originally built it? it would have been electro penciled to the body as well, but it usually wears off pretty quickly.
.020 is a ton different. When truing an...
I don't believe it is a counterbore issue just clarifying for some of the guys that may think it is an issue with my reasoning, if it was you would at least feel a touch more resistance when closing the bolt or possibly a click as the extractor hits the counterbore.
If you haven't, check the...
As to opening the counter bore, I cut the counterbore on all barrels I chamber to fit a mini M-16 extractor even if the customer wants a factory extractor exactly for situations like this so sending in the entire gun isn't necessary.
