That's a beautiful picture, definitely a high point for a hunter!, congrats! Sorry guys I didn't clarify, a few years back WA gave out a few tags on the peninsula but it sounded like it was damn near impossible to get there. I have no doubt these guys worked their butts off!
Hello all,
I had a question of two for users of seek outside LBO base as a stand alone shelter in the summer, mainly wondering how far your sleeping bag is from drip line and does it seem adequate if a storm comes up.
Thanks in advance, Fuzz
I have had one for years, I think they are a great tool. Get the longer version it is the most useful. One time I thought I would cut some weight and got a shorter blade and left a couple pieces at home(essentially making it the short version Wyoming saw). Found out the hard way it takes forever...
That hunt gets better as weather sets in. Elk are coming out of the mountains headed for oak creek. Go up the road behind the wood shed tavern or up behind whistling jacks. Good luck, also expect lots of company.
Treestands can be a good option for elk, I've taken a few by using them. Not ideal all the time but can be good if elk are in the area. I have used both styles but prefer a hang on set up. Quieter to get in and out of; plus it's hell trying to get a climber to the ground when you need to crap!
Hi all, had a question for the EMR 2 users; when using the pack in day mode are the tube pockets fairly easy to use or a hassle with the straps going over them? Thinking of getting one as it seems like it would be versatile, just wondering about ease of use when compressed. Thanks, Fuzz
