    carrying oil in backpack

    I bring a small REI Nalgene bottle of peanut oil when I am camping during morel season. The rest of the time I pack ghee in an REI squeeze tube for cooking oil. It doesn't need to be refrigerated and is much less likely to leak all over everything inside my pack.

    I have an Alpacka Unrigged Fjord Explorer and a Denali Llama and they are significantly slower than my canoe. I would think the PR-49 would be faster than the Alpacka as well because of the way you sit in it. Sitting directly on the floor in an Alpacka, your butt is well below the waterline...

    13Bonatter69, for weight savings the Nallo can be utilized without the outer shell, though I wouldn't do this below 40 degrees. I have not experienced any problems with condensation using the Nallo. I am willing to deal with a little extra weight for the GT as it gives me a space for cooking...
