Spent 5 days out in CO and heard nothing at all. Saw a herd with 6 bulls, a bunch of cows and calves and not a bugle. No cow talk either. Pretty rough week with the weather

I've been back and forth but I believe this is the same deer. He's about 1/2 mile from where I took the other pictures.

I keep driving around looking for him. All of my trips out of the house have magically become 5-10 min longer because I'm looking in every drainage I can find to figure out where else he's going

I've seen this deer a few times and he's got me super excited for season to start. Hopefully I'll get to watch him grow and shed. Any thoughts on what he'd score when he's done growing antler this year?

I had one free day so I went into the southern part of the Sangres. I didn't hear any vocalizations. I covered 6 miles or so and found good sign between 10400 and 10700 but absolutely no where else. I believe that elevation was their choice because that's where water was most prevalent not...
I think you may be a little light in calories depending on how you plan to hunt. Maybe throw in some peanut butter packs or even just like a 2 or 3 pound bag of almonds or walnuts.

This year I made little baggies for cold oats so I could put water in the night before and it will be ready to eat in the morning.

The first two years I came out to hunt I had scares. The first year (2016) I was going to come out we got 30 something inches of rain and it flooded my house. We ended up having 14 inches of water in the house 3 weeks before I was supposed to leave. My wife was pregnant and we had a 1 year old...
I often wonder in these discussions what the biologists think. Can the populations in any given unit support the hunting pressure they are seeing? I'm equally worried about sustainable hunting as I am with a quality experience. Does anyone here have the credentials to weigh in on these...
I think you probably need a half size up. It is realatively common to need that half size to prevent what you experienced. I'm not big on pimping a boot brand because boot fit is so personal but Crispi boots, in my experience, require little to no break in. That being said I do worry about you...
