Top 5 gear items that help you hunt more efficiently/comfortably

Lots of great stuff and hard to add. Since this is a gear list I'll add that my favorite thing to take hunting is a 2nd backpack, which happens to be attached to the back of a good friend that can carry as much or more weight than I can :)

    What's your preferred water bladder?

Wow - thanks for all the feedback everyone! Source was on my short list, so good to see they are getting used and holding up well. Some follow-up questions for the Source users... What do you think of the push-pull valve? I've only ever used a bite valve so wondering how this one compares...

Light compact saw for skull capping

Another vote for Wyoming Saw. I've tried several of the folding types with various tooth configurations. The finer double row tooth configuration works great for anything relatively dry, which allows for the bone fragments to shed the way the saw is designed. If, however, you are cutting a...

    New from Idaho...

Great site you have here! I discovered it while nerding out on some gear research...Rokslide kept coming up while searching for info on hunting packs and gear so I thought I'd register and check it out. I live in SW Idaho and hunt a little of everything but time is limited so I focus on Elk...

    exo mountain pack

I'm torn between the Exo and the new Kifaru Hunting frame. I love the Exo bag design, but I'm drawn to the Kifaru frame for robustness and comfort under heavy load. I've never had my hands on either so I have to rely on reviews and great forums like this to help make my decision. Is there a...
