I imagine it's headed towards a quota system like others have suggested. In that respect, these folks are going to make it easy for WYGF to justify the less stringent regulations that we'll see in the future.
I bought a 2006 Tundra DC with 115K for ~$15k last year. I've seen similar for less but I was ok with that price since the truck was in great shape, had a topper and new AT tires. Plus the truck was at a dealership which I prefer when traveling a few hours to buy a rig. I'd say look for one...
I use my Metcalf (NICE frame) for hunting and backpacking trips, up to a week. I've packed out numerous elk, deer, antelope and a few caribou with the pack. It is bombproof, comfortable and well designed. The only knock is that it's a bit heavy but I have no doubt that it will perform so I...
I pretty much only hunt with Barnes TTSX. My shots are 400 yards or less and primary species are elk, deer and pronghorn. I load 168 grain for the .300 WSM and 120 grain for the 6.5x55. I get sub MOA on both, which is good enough for my needs. I'm interested to hear folks experience with the...
I use one of these in my set up, which is similar to yours. I much prefer foam over a self-inflating pad when I'm truck camping.

You're just describing regulations in high use areas. No mystery there. It's confirmed by the presence of Forest Service personnel. Target shooting and hunting are not treated the same on USFS property either.
I hunted with BRA last year and our group saw a lot of animals, like a whole lot of animals. We went 4 for 4 and everyone we talked with in Bettles tagged out as well. I assume it's luck of the draw to some degree but we had a great hunt. We figured about $5500/person total when all was said...
Anything New Glarus but Spotted Cow is it. I'm also a big fan of the Central Waters Mud Puppy Porter. Nothing competes with WI beers! Blacktooth, either the IPA or Brown, is the best Wyo has to offer and they make a damn good beer.
I tend to trust the county GIS sites most since they are updated regularly. With all sources pointing to BLM, it sounds to me like she's wrong but I'd get a hold of the BLM office to confirm that and then politely suggest the BLM informs the lady of her error if she is wrong. Posting it as BLM...
If you're carrying everything for 7 days, I'd ditch the guide jacket and add a puffy. I have a guide jacket (which I absolutely love) but it wouldn't go with me on that trip. If you've got base layers, the pelaton, a puffy and a shell (I assume you have a good shell) you're good to go...
