I have no experience with Hi-Lux. Can someone provide a review?
I ask because they offer a modernized version of the Leatherwood ART, which is what I used on an M21 at the old XVIII Airborne Corps AMTU Sniper School at Fort Bragg in 1985. So the interest in that particular scope design is...

No BPCR experience. Just acquired a .45-70 Sharps 1877. Suggestions about where to start? Loads, bullet weights, etc.
Will be used mostly for recreational shooting, but I also hope to slay a buffalo with it someday. Probably won’t compete.
A little late, but Cody, Wyoming outfitter and guide Ron Dube passed in May at age 82:

I never met him, but my understanding is that he had a great reputation as an outfitter and guide in the Cody area. He seems to have led a a life well lived.
Sen. Lee’s public lands sale proposal is dead, as is. He has voiced his intention to reintroduce a scaled down version. The new version is supposed to eliminate all National Forest land from consideration and limit considered BLM land to land within five miles of a developed area.
I always buy a resident general. I also just found out I drew a resident Area 67, Type 6 (cow/calf). This is southern Absaroka, north of Dubois. Was up there scouting last night and saw a sow Grizzly with two cubs. Should be an interesting fall.
Does anyone here use the Zercher squat as their primary squatting movement, or at least incorporate them into your program? If so, how are you liking it what led you to it?
I recently viewed a podcast featuring Pavel Tsatsouline advocating the Zercher squat. It sparked my interest. I was...

Tell us about it, what you’ve since learned, and how things have changed.
Mine was a cow at about 75 yards. I was shooting a Ruger No. 1 in .30-06 with a 220 grain Core Lokt and open sights (receiver peep sight, not buckhorn sights). I had a military style shooting sling and was leaning...
StrongFirst article: https://www.strongfirst.com/the-kettlebell-mile/
Sounds interesting. Thoughts?
My initial thought is that it looks like something that could beat you down and cause joint trauma. But the author seems to have success with it. And at only one mile, it might be something...
A second Colorado wolf has “died” in Wyoming:

I love Wyoming.
Who here has experienced success with machine based strength training?
By success, I mean consistent long term strength gains, as measured on the machines, that you believe had a positive impact on physical capacity and performance, preferably as it relates to backcountry hunting and load...
Might finally be moving out of a condo in the resort community of Jackson Hole to a slower paced and more affordable community. House under contract in Dubois, Wyoming. Hopefully closing by April 1. Wife will be closer to her family in Riverton and I’ll still be close to the high country and...
It’s still legal with your snowmobile:

I support wolf hunting. I don’t approve of using any vehicle as a weapon, even for predators.
Wyoming has two really good museums: the National Museum of Military Vehicles in Dubois and the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody. I’ve enjoyed these two more than the Smithsonians in DC. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out.
My wife and I just made another trip to Cody and visited...
