    CWD aint new. They have been studying it for 50ish years now and to my knowledge there is no evidence of species jump. Can or will it happen? Maybe, but it's not like there isnt already a lot of study data, that so far doesnt support the idea presented in the article.

    Yeah the actual study report that I saw does not provide any evidence that they know for fact that the deer consumed were CWD positive.

    CO archery mule deer in '87. 4 college kids loaded up and went. 2 of my buddies killed. I hit a buck in the shoulder and got no penetration.

    Saddle Hunting

    If you are primarily a leaner, my votes would be the EDP or Mission from Trophyline for a platform. I use the mission. Either would work to if you prefer to sit in the saddle. If you want the ability to to hunt facing the tree or away from the tree, LWCG .5 is hard to beat. There are lots of...

    Saddle as a safety harness

    In the fall, you could dislodge or knock the top stick off or out of reach. You could also fall to the opposite side of the tree or stand and not be able to reach the sticks. Top stick could break as you are transitioning to or from the stand. Etc.
