    Durston xmid solid preorders

Pitched a tent in the backyard. First things first, super easy to set up. Stake out a taught rectangle, extend poles, done. Today it’s 90* on its way to 100* with somewhat damp lawn meant this thing got swampy fast just pitching the fly. By the time I got the inner in place it was unbearable...

    Durston xmid solid preorders

I ordered an Xmid2 Solid as well, only email I got was 7/14 saying it is "shipping soon, specifically we believe it will be shipped by the end of the month". Did you get something more specific than that?

How far can you judge yardarge accurately?

I've golfed since I was a kid, so I'm decent out to 250-300 yards. Basically within driver range  *rifle hunter not bowhunter, so obviously 10 yards margin of error isn't going to make as much of a difference.

    Repairing leaky seam seal tape

Quick update if others try to waterproof a bag with coated material like this. The GearAid SeamGrip WP does adhere well to the rubber coated material, Tenacious Tape does not. Plan was to coat with SeamGrip then apply Tenacious tape over the cured SeamGrip but the tape just doesn't stick to...

    Repairing leaky seam seal tape

It’s a fishing pack and supposed to keep my camera gear dry if I take an unexpected dunk in the water. I’ve found a few holes now that need to be patched otherwise water gets in and stays in due to the rubber interior coating.

    Repairing leaky seam seal tape

Well two items that don't work: Permatex silicone sealant (left over from sealing a silpoly tarp) and FlexSeal tape. Neither adhere to the rubber coating on the fabric, they just peel off cleanly. FlexTape says in small letters "may not adhere to waterproof/water-resistant materials" so maybe...

    Repairing leaky seam seal tape

This is the exterior of the pack in the leak area, not sure I could seal the outside without it looking like garbage. I think a combination of these suggestions might work. Trim out the area that isn’t sealing and use tape or sealant over the area.

    Repairing leaky seam seal tape

I’ve got this pack which is canvas with a (rubber?) coated interior. The seams are taped inside but when I submerge the pack water starts to flow under the tape. Anything I can do to restore the waterproofness? Spray the whole inside with Flex Seal? Once water gets in, it has nowhere to go...

    Solo Oahu Trip - Suggestions

Update 3/14: not sure why this got moved to the "game birds" section but the trip is coming together. Going to camp on the northeast shore in a private campground and rented a Tacoma with a RTT loaded with camping gear to be my mobile base camp. Hunting wise I talked with a few guides but I...

    Vasectomy

The only memorable part for me was when the doc asked it he could put on some music during the procedure, classic rock. Gave the OK so he turns on Pandora and the first song that plays as I’m laying there spread eagle with orange iodine all over my junk about to get snipped is… Aerosmith’s...

    Newish Fly Reels

Good timing on this thread, I'm trying to build a budget flats setup for HI and TX that I might be able to use on steelheads, stripers, and salmon at home. I found the Lamson Remix -9+ on sale with 3 reels for $169 which seems like a killer deal for a made in USA 4+" reel, 3 spools, and a...
