Yeah, no timelines have been given however in the Unknown Munitions update above he says most rail-less tikkas have been delivered, so maybe that would be a quicker route. I'm waiting for a rail-less Tikka from Dec. 21 which I assume was held up by spacers. I'm crossing my fingers that mine will...

We're talking about 10 shot Tikka groups, right?

Some of us lie to ourselves to feel better. Don't take that away from me. Those LE green ones really do look good. I went bare carbon because I didn't want to stunt my creativity, but I second guess my choice every time I see the green stocks.

I'm just going to tell myself that I'm lucky I didn't get one of the first ones because mine will come after the production kinks got worked out.

That assumes 100% profit on each rokstock. There's a fixed sunk cost with every stock in materials, labor, shipping, etc. It takes a lot more the 18 to pay for a mold. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I've seen enough preorders over the years to expect some delays, so it hasn't...

    9tw 22-250 Bullet Recommendations

Hornady75 bthp will stabilize. I don't have experience with them on game, but they've shot well for me and might be worth a try.

    Tikka 223 magazine feeding issues

I need to measure the opening on mine. They didn't look wider. To me it seemed like the cartridges were just hanging up on the feed lips. Basically that when they were pushed in far enough into the magazine they could slide under the lip on that side and wouldn't come free without a little help...

    Tikka 223 magazine feeding issues

I have a 4 and a 6 that stretching hasn't really helped with. Maybe a couple hundred rounds through each. Both had problems since day one. The factory original magazine has been good. The two I've had problems with were replacements.

Bulk .223 Bullets - Anyone Try RMR 75gr BTHP?

I've played with them a bit. My standard cheap load in my Tikka 223 has been the Hornady 75 bthp, but I've also shot quite a few with the 73 eldm. I'm not going to say every 10-shot group with those bullets in that gun has been sub MOA, but more often than not they have been. Nothing tuned about...

Does the 223/6mm for everything change when hunt cost $$$

It's funny that people who accept that a 223 can kill efficiently are sometimes referred to as "kool-aid drinkers" when they're making decisions based on empirical data. Of course, the term originates from the Jonestown cult where people committed suicide by drinking kool-aid simply because the...

    Painless load development (mine)

I don't have any experience with a uniflow or N140, although I can see that N140 is a stick powder. The standard recommendation is that you will get best results from a powder measure using ball powders. Harrells has a good reputation for stick powder. I've also seen the JDS quickmeasure...

Does the 223/6mm for everything change when hunt cost $$$

Hunting on my own I would go the 223/6mm route. However, big $$$ hunts implies you will be using a guide. In that case, I'd use whatever they were comfortable with. Not because I think they have better understanding of ballistics and wound channels, etc., but they will treat you differently if...

    RokStok

You guys that are just having them show up are getting me excited. I ordered a bare carbon/no rail on 12/21 and have been watching my email like a hawk the past couple weeks. Sadly, I'm not in the 10%. I forgot to specify length pull when initially submitting my order and had to send an email.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

This. I keep it simple, too. I experiment with new bullets from time to time, but have two main loads. A cheaper 75 bthp load and a 73 eld load. I don't bother tuning to a specific gun and just shoot those in everything. I might see an accuracy difference in a tuned load, but I'm not a good...

    April 8th Eclipse

The last total eclipse in the USA was in 2017 and the next one will be in 2044. For the one in 2017, my house was in the path of totality, and it was one of the coolest things I've witnessed in my life. We're planning to drive to Texas, if it looks like the weather will be decent. The difference...

    The Shoot2hunt Podcast

Have you never had a bad Tikka mag? I bought a spare 4 rounder and a 6 rounder to have ready to go when hunting. I'm shooting reloads at around 2.25 coal, and never had a problem feeding from the mag that came with the gun, but with both the new ones, cartridges in the magazines sometimes tilt...

    Hornady Match Vs Reloads

Hornady match has been very accurate for me. I've been able to match and maybe beat it with reloads but not by enough to matter for hunting. From online suppliers it looks like 7 PRC Hornday match 180 eldms are around $2.80 per cartridge. You can probably reload for a bit less than half that. I...

My gear/pack layout from base layers to binos

lol. Maybe a little. I was really wondering if anyone else had an issue with it. Not a bad idea.

My gear/pack layout from base layers to binos

I tried the fjallraven pants based on recommendations here and like them quite a bit. Only real complaint for me is the fit. I had to go a size up in the waist in order to have them be big enough through the thighs. Maybe I have thunder thighs. I don't think I've seen anyone else complain about...
