I carry 4 when I elk hunt. I debone the meat. I put one back quarter in a bag, the second back quarter in a second bag, the two front shoulders and neck meat in a third bag, and the back straps and tenderloins in the fourth bag.

I use one by Montbell that is a solid green color. It’s a great puffy for everyday wear and around the camp while hunting.

It could be the “handout mentality” for some people. It could be that some people don’t shoot elk often enough on their own. From your post “Dozens and dozens” , you and your group are doing quite well.

I just make a new tape. Which is actually the only tape I use. During the off season I just print out my numbers but don’t actually install a tape on my sight.

Another Wyoming saw guy here. That thing is great. I leave it in the truck and grab it when I bring my first meat load out. So weight isn’t really an issue for me because I’m not carrying it all day everyday.
