How do you positively reenforce the tone? Give a treat when you hitt tone? That would only be telling the dog that tone means treat.
So you have your terminology straight, the tone is the reenforcement for you. You're not positively reinforcing the tone. The only way tone would be positive...
Well positive reenforcement is praise and treats. I don't see anyone here implying the collar is positive reenforcement. Of course the collar is a negative reinforcement. It doesn't mean it needs to be painful.
This. For me tone is recall. He hears tone and know its the same as the whistle or me calling "here" to him.
Tp set it straight, there is no stim AND shock. There is no shock. Only stimulation. You want to get your mind thinking that way. Start on the lowest setting you determine the setting...
Does anyone have this issue? And how do you get around it? The only way I've found is to throw them in the dryer after washing them after every 5/6 or so washes. Otherwise after I airdrop them they are stiff in places. Sure they soften up after putting them on but if anyone knows a way for this...
There has been a lady on the meateater pod that does hearing protection. It seems like hers are good. I've talked to her once on the phone. She called me from her cell while getting dinner ready for at home for her husband and kid. Plus she's miss Tennessee formerly. I would like to get a pair...

SDSU had the whooping cough cancel the game against Portland state so they lost out on a D1 win. That's my understanding at least from what I've heard.
Does anyone really know what another hunters capabilites are? I mean some things that you deemed obvious may not have been obvious. I think we all know someone who's smart as a tack but lacks "street smarts".
As has been said, a polite conversation can sometimes be best.
This is what you said and what I was responding to.
"Competition is really the only level playing field when comparing abilities across the spectrum. It’s nice that a guy hunts his dogs regularly, but unless you can quantify how that dog performs against other dogs, there’s no benchmark for...
A dog testing NA at 17 months would not prize. No matter how well they did. Considering a dog has to be younger than 16 months for the NA test. Soooooo.........
There is so much more that goes into testing. Handler experience is a big one. No way I could've tested my dog at under 10 months...
