Yeah, make sure you send it to a taxidermist that handles lots of bears. I live in the south, sent this one to a guy in MT. My brother sent his to a local with basically no bear experience, didn’t end well for him.
I’m really not sure if I lost some or not. I didn’t take photos of the underside and it was with the taxidermist for a year so my memory is a little fuzzy. Maybe lost a little. If making a rug, I can’t think of any other way to do it, but if doing a full body or shoulder mount, I think it...
Very nice. There’s an app called screen grabber that allows you to make clear photos out of videos. Just fyi. If you decide to upload the video to YouTube, link it here.
Great story. People who thinking baiting bears makes it easy should read this. Yall put in the work for this guy. Great to get an old boar. What a hunt. Congrats
you probably already know this, but make sure it is completely cooled before rolling it up in the bag. They will hold heat and rot quickly.
I’m not sure on the smallest size you can get away with, but I know they will fit in a regular sized contractor bag.
Great bear. That joker’s ears are dang near halfway down his head! Y’all gotta give me more stats on the bears y’all take. Square and skull size should be requirements 😂.
I guess that’s an Ok week 😁. I’d love to hear more about it. What outfitter? Why’d you pick that outfitter? About how many bears did y’all see during the hunt? Basically any other details about the hunt you want to share. Getting a 10’ on the peninsula is my dream hunt.
I meant quality of bears. I’m not certain on bear density, sounds like other posters are saying Idaho has more, that probably varies by unit. There are some units in Idaho that allow you to take 2 bears. And some that allow you to use electronic calls.
Great first bear. That’s awesome. The heart rest data is pretty cool to see. I imagine we all do that, I know the adrenaline rush and then the drop back to normal is something else.
