Spent an inordinate amount of time dorking out on 6mm options. 6mm CM does it indeed appear to check off a lot of boxes. Thought I'd never be able to find a bolt gun for less than 1K, but found a ruger american online tonight for less than $600. Looking forward to getting down with this 6.
I dont really see how eforms are going to dramatically improve wait times. They're simply electronically sending forms now instead of through the mail, right? Glad this is an option, but a handful of days aint gonna make a difference when we're waiting 12+ months. Am I mistaken?
Yeah, really curious about this as well. Scratching my head about replacing stock, trigger, bottom metal. I haven't done a thing to mine except add a brake. It shoots 1moa with Hornady ELD-X all day long, and .5 when i'm doing everything right. If any of these upgrades would make a noticable...
Yeah, been gnawing on this question too. Decided to buy a 6.5 Grendel upper with a 20" barrel and the resized mag for one of my ARs and give that a shot. Cheaper than a whole new gun.
But you aint wrong going with 223 either.
I have one and love it. Still not sold on fluted barrel though. I shoot ELD-X and Nosler 140gr Ballistic Tip, both are .5 moa all day if I do everything right.
I'd salt it till you're ready to work on it further. I had a hide in the freezer I was working on, the freezer broke, and my hide was ruined. Salting is easy and will help you sleep better.
This guy is really helpful:
Exped. Their lighter weight pads are almost as comfortable as the larger/heavier models they sell. And the big ones are the best I've come across. Read the reviews online. People with back problems take them to sleep on when staying at hotels.
I switched gears at 37. Took a six month coding school course and couldnt be happier with the decision. Having a skill set for the 21st century has really been a game changer for me. Any opportunity to be involved in anything tech related cant be a bad option.
I stayed somewhere once that had a latex mattress topper on the bed. I quickly went a bought one from
Amazon for $120 and haven't looked back. I'll never spend money on an expensive mattress again. Been sleeping on my topper for 4 years and it looks brand new. From here on out I'll use whatever...
Not sure what this would look like exactly, but a hunting pack with a built in rifle shooting rest thing. In the frame itself or the pack maybe. To save time repositioning my pack multiple times trying to find the most solid placement of my rifle.
I searched high and low on the zeiss website trying to determine if any of their scopes were FFP. I even ordered a catalog. Finally emailed them and they confirmed they only make SFP. Really surprised and unfortunately a deal breaker for me.
A lot of us are asking the same question about Tikka and 6.5 PRC. OMR will convert a Tikka to 6.5 PRC w/ a carbon barrel, and do it a lot faster than whenever Tikka feels like it. Search the threads for OMR.

I have the cheaper and heavier Athlon Argos, no issues with it. I also have a couple of their scopes and my primary binocs. I'd be the first to admit there's better glass, but not typically at the Athlon price point. The scopes were great when I first got into long range, but quickly realized I...
The fellow at Oregon Mountain Rifle told me Tikka isnt planning on offering anything in 6.5 PRC since everything they make is flying off the shelves as it is. Aimed to buy the OMR Tikka upgrade, but in the end decided to go with a Seekins Element. Penciled it out and the Element wasn't that much...
I dont see anywhere on the zeiss website about a first focal plane option for the V4. It's not the easiest website to make sense of either. Any ideas if FFP will be or is available?
Also, what would the equivalent of this be from Leupold? I'm pretty happy with my Leupold VX-3i LRP 6.5-20, but...
Ditto on the 99% cosmetic. Sportsman's Warehouse had a sale on the superlite when I bought mine. I don't regret it at all, but the stainless and fluted barrel I can take or leave.
6.5CM doesnt really need a brake, but putting one one really helped me get back on target faster.
Shooting the...
