The amount of tuning is gonna depend on the bow and the cam system on it....If your shooting a bow with a 2 track binary cam "Elite, New Breed, Athens, Obsession, etc..." then bare shaft tuning can be a pain because those bows are notorious for cam lean "nature of that cam system" and with no...
Yep I'm right there with you...I've missed close shots and drilled long shots. Hell I missed a B&C 10pt whitetail last year at 30yds and that's a shot I can always make and flat out ruin arrows in a 3-D target at 30yds. If conditions are right my max range differs, I've shot animals at really...
Looks like I'll be elk hunting in the Boulder, WY area this year...What's the typical timing when the rut really heats up out there in the western section of WY???
I'd like to try to hit it when the bulls were really being vocal so I was thinking about the last week of Sept. Hunting with a buddy...
Only a hopefully less gay note than the rest of this thread... Justin you have some serious ink going on there...
And I read your elk hunt article in the new Extreme Elk Mag the other day, congrats man great bull and a great read.
I don't buy the fletching glues anymore either...I used to be a Goat Tuff fan and the last couple bottles of it I bought were crap so I started using the Loc Tite or Gorilla glues too. Cheap, easy to find pretty much anywhere and works good.
I just bought some new Danner Full Curls at Scheels on sale for $119, regular price is $240 on them... Really nice boots with good support and seamless construction.
Steve is a good dude, I've been a dealer with BG for years but I recently moved states and during all the headaches that come with a move I referred numerous guys to S&S because I knew Steve would take good care of them.
I haven't messed with Flex Fletch but it sounds like I should...I've played around with a lot of others though and normally go back to Blazers...For me they fletch up easy enough, fly good and are tough... I always liked AAE vanes but I tear them up to often shooting groups, Blazers just hold up...
Same here....
Easiest way to check for nock pinch is to take your field tip/broadhead off of the arrow then draw it back....If the arrow tries to raise up off the rest without the tip on it then you have nock pinch.
Victory V1 .300 spine VAP
92gr Stainless Steel inserts
3.5" white wraps
Blazer vanes
100gr Ulmer Edge broadheads
Should finish out about 445grs by the time I figure in all the glue
Depends on the arrows I'm building...On my 3-D arrows I use Loctite gel in the black bottle...It's the impact resistant stuff.
On my VAPs this year I'm gonna use the Easton 2 part epoxy made for the HIT inserts...That stuff has always been tough as nails for me and I've never pulled an insert...
I run the Versa Rest to my bottom limb for 2 reasons...
1- the cord doesn't contact my TightSpot when I run it to the bottom limb
2- in windy conditions I've had the wind blow the cord into my sight picture and block my pins at full draw with it hooked to the top limb, no chance of that when on...
If you like a single pin the Ambush is a good option ... The Vengeance head is all micro adjust, gang and pins... Syrge head is just micro adjust pins...regular Ascent head has NO micro adjust at all. Of course there's a price difference in all of them... I'm a dealer if you need prices on them.
I like the Ambush so far, it's a lot nicer than their old single pin head. I have the 4" dovetail on both of mine so I could have some adjustments as far as length and the 3rd axis adjustments.
