Fair enough, I live 1/4 mile from that spot so its easy.
3rd season, but also have a 4th tag. We could of put a shot in the head when he was bedded in a much safer spot when they were on the other side of the ridge, but passed hoping he would pop up broadside. They ended up topping that small...
Yeah was suppressed. Just bad optics IMO to aim in the general direction of a home. I know some people would take the shot but it felt ethically wrong.
Gents,
Can't find anything on this but want your opinion.
Had a nice rutting buck at <200 yards for 2 hours. Issue is, there are homes nearby even though I am on BLM land. We had an adequate backstop, but still were "aiming" in the general direction of homes. Any passthrough would result in...
Just had a buck stalk ruined by an entire elk herd of 200+ head! Spotted the buck from 1400 yards and moved in for a stalk. Also spotted the elk herd in the other drainage probably 3/4 mile away from the deer. The elk herd just rolled over into the drainage and the deer booked it. Elk ended up...
Some moto gear that I need to offload
Sidi Crossfire 3 SRS Size 11US/45EUR. Wore half a season.
Ogio 450 Tool Pack (Brand New with Tag)
Alpinestars A10 chest protector. Wore 2 years. Size M/L.
Make an offer.
I feel like I don't know how to hunt anymore. Multiple groups of does and I have only seen 1 buck that has since disappeared. Last year same time and place (of course with an elk tag) I was spotting some tanks quite easily. Oh well good luck!
Unless you own a sig.
In all seriousness we need to call this out. I just watched some mule deer video where the guy had the rifle slung in a holster pointed directly at the guy walking in front of him. Very popular hunting YouTuber and no one mentioned it.
I unfortunately only see elk when I have a deer tag and vice-versa. Saw over 100 head elk @ 700 yards pass by tonight. Some does with a forkie but nothing worth packing out yet.
Raghorn??? That's a herd bull for CO OTC, especially in those central CO units. Great bull.
I pegged a 6x6 in 1st that was a little bigger than that with ~40 cows, so no doubt that guy maybe the best one around!
With the end of the year donation season upon us, what are some good organizations to donate to that fight for hunters? I know there is HOWL, are there any others?
Don't say RMEF...Here is a public chart I found of 2023 compensation...Not donating to an org that pays their non-profit CEO 700K.
I like to ride my SxS/truck in the middle of the road at 50 mph. This makes sure I can't react to oncoming when I cross blind corners. Seems to work well so far.
Edit: Had way too many near misses this summer and fall from out of staters (Almost all Texans and Minnesota for some reason...). No...
