I'm really happy with the Spuhr mount for Tikka; even though the gap between rings isn't as wide as Tier One's, it gives you tons of fire-aft positioning flexibility due to having four options for placing the recoil pin.
It's barely any heavier than the separate Sportsmatch HTO73s — only 29...
I love cooking and I have some chefs among my friends; none of us is buying this ridiculous thing.
Besides, carbon steel is the way to go if you want better finish quality than cast iron.
The same result could be achieved from polishing and re-seasoning a cheap one.
I suppose it’s more convenient when the finishing is already smooth, but when it comes down to it, cast iron is cast iron.
@Mike D Texas
I’ve never heard of forging cast iron, whether by hand or otherwise.
Anyway, what’s the difference between a fancy cast-iron pan and a basic one, in practical terms?
Absolutely. I like to use a rectangular griddle; this one matches the size of the big elements on my induction top and is also fantastic on an outdoor charcoal or gas grill. Only cost about fifty bucks, too! Sous-vide is generally my go-to before final searing on cast iron or carbon steel, but...
A DeBuyer carbon steel pan is better-quality and will cook circles around that ridiculous thing at a fraction of the cost. Why anyone would buy a fancy cast-iron pan is beyond me.
Let's not blame the victims here.
Purdue Pharma (among others) aimed to get as many people hooked on their brand of opiate as possible, and it worked. Of course it's effective for pain relief; the stuff is essentially morphine.
Haven't had any failures on any of the electric bikes yet; I run either XT or the 51T-compatible 11-speed Deore derailleurs and they're all fine. No different than a normal mountain bike in that regard.
Riese & Müller offers the awesome Rohloff 14-speed geared hub on many of their bikes if...
The main two are a Moustache X-Road FS 7, and a customized Riese & Müller Load 60.
The stock Bosch drive on the R&M will haul 100+ kilos of passenger/cargo up a hill without an issue on a 48-tooth chainring and 11-51T cassette. Really handy for taking the dog and kids afield.
Likewise, the...
You don’t need 1000W to climb hills if you have a mid-drive system instead of a hub motor.
The bike doesn’t have to be super-heavy, either. Also, it’s possible to carry a spare battery or two if range is an issue.
Granite is nice.
Maybe check out something called “compact laminate”, too; tough, low-profile, maintenance-free and has some very nice finishes available in my opinion.
That’s a bit like someone saying they can’t stand to listen to music.
I mean, there is a pretty wide range of content and quality; it’s not all ad-filled junk with idiots yammering over each other.
I totally agree that some (many, in fact) are unlistenable, but others are must-listen. And...
@mgmicky Yeah, the unhemmed Fjällräven inseam is 38.5", which is pretty fantastic in my opinion. They're the only pair of outdoorsy pants I've come across where I haven't wanted more length. Really tough and comfortable, too.
