Just seeking some advice and info about the aspects of becoming a game warden. I understand there is a shortage across the country and I have somewhat of an understanding of what the job entails, definitely not all great from the little research I’ve done.
In the current climate of LEO’s...
Sportsmans Warehouse. We filled up a basket with binos to test outside. They brought 2 employees out incase I ran off with a basket full of optics hahah

We have just over 1 million people in the 4th largest state (Montana), I’m not too worried about the Californians, there’s plenty of space here. Most are moving to Missoula, Bozeman or the Flathead valley anyways. Once they realize how cloudy and cold it is here most of the year, they’ll be gone...
Hey 6.5,
Just curious if you’d be willing to trade for a Kowa 553 and cash? I have the scope listed in the classifieds for trade.
Thanks

Having gone through the same dilemma of deciding between the 10s or 12s, I eventually settled on the 10s. I compared the two NLs extensively, and then threw some EL 12x50 and Razor UHD 12x50 into the mix. What I noticed was that the 10x NL looked like the same power magnification as the EL 12...
I would buy one of these in a heart beat, but I’d also need a left hand version which I doubt they would make. But yeah, send the Extreme B-14 to the US please!

[emoji115]These are wise words. This is exactly what I did. 6 years ago I bought a pair of Diamondback 8x42 for $150 at a Sportsmans Sale. I was lucky enough to win a pair of Viper HDs which I’ve ran over the last 5 years, but if I hadn’t won those, I’d have kept going with the Diamondbacks...
I have a like new Kowa 553 125th Anniversary Edition spotter that’s in pristine condition. I haven’t even filled out the warranty card. All accessories that it came with are there. The neoprene case is also in excellent condition with no stains. This optic has always ridden in my backpack...
It seems like you’ve got a couple years to save for your glass upgrade, and I don’t know how much you could put away every month, but glass is one of those items that’s as important as your boots and pack in my opinion. I’ve been running Vortex Viper HDs for the last 5 years and finally saved...
I own the Salewa Rapace and love it. It’s definitely a stiff boot, which I prefer. It climbs off trail steep terrain very well, and it also feels light. If it fits your foot it’s a great boot and has not shown any bad wear over the last 2 seasons. I have been using it here in Montana for late...
I’m in SW Montana and have been glassing mornings and evenings at open meadows bordering dark timber in the 7000’-8000’ range. So far I have not seen any deer. I decided to still hunt some dark timber and I busted a descent looking buck in a rocky bench around early mid day. Other than that have...
Thanks for the input everybody. Moisture management seems to be key here, and not over tightening boots to allow circulation. I’ll be narrowing my search to 200-400 grams of insulation. Probably looking at some Kenetreks or Hoffman boots.
