Looking forward to the review. I’ve been running the unaweep 4800 with the talon pocket, but been thinking of going with the Merlin for day hunts. This Silverton pack might be the ticket though.

Awesome hunt. Congratulations! Your goat hunt was during the same time as mine and we had identical conditions. I’m glad the snow didn’t hit as hard as expected. You gonna do a full body mount?

Wondering if folks know which taxidermists do a great job on mountain goats? I live in Butte and was thinking of using Atcheson Taxidermy. His work looks nice and has been in the business a long time, but he only had one full size mountain goat in the show room.
Just wondering what other...
I’m gonna full size him. He’s got too great of a coat not to show off the whole animal. My wife even approved the taxidermy bill [emoji23]

Thanks everyone. He is very haired up and exactly what I was looking for. I am more than happy with him.
I checked him in at FWP, and these are his dimensions and age:
- 3.5 years old
- L & R base width: 5 5/8”
- L horn length: 9 1/4”
- R horn length: 9”
She said he’s a big billy for his...

Just wanting to know if it’s a bad idea to be hunting for goats October 18-27th? Unfortunately I’ve started a new job and going through an apprenticeship and this is the only big window I have to hunt the goat tag. I may get a couple weekends in at the end of September and would like to fill the...
I like my TAB Gear Rear Bag V2 in light fill. It’s 3oz. Comes over filled but if you step on it and rock back and forth you’ll get it to where you want it.

I like my TAB Gear rear bag. They have a lightweight version that I use for hunting. Think it’s $39 and quality made.

I’m wanting to know which bullets work great for anchoring a goat? I want fast expansion and big wound channel. My buddy wants to load with Berger VLD Hunters 140 grain for my 6.5 PRC, and I’m not opposed to it, but is there a bullet out there that fragments quickly and consistently?
