I’m considering a region D tag this yr as a NR since I just burned all my pts for H last yr. Hoping for an early season high country back pack type trip. Any of you had good experiences like that in 66?
Thanks for this MT. I think I’m gonna order a solid 1p x-mid and see how I fit in it. It seems like a really good tweener between the tiny 1p tents out there and a true 2p. Saves me about 10 oz I think over the 2p as well.
The SS Li only weighs around 30oz all included if I’m not mistaken. Ad 4oz for the pole I use so I have a trekking pole during the day and idk how you have a better option for a DW 2P at that weight if price isn’t an issue.
So I have the x-mid 2P with a mesh inner and loved using it for high country mule deer last season. Thinking about adding a 1p to the gear for this yr and maybe use it on my sheep hunt next year. Has anyone had any condensation issues with the 1p and solid inner? I think I’d like the extra...
So I’ll be doing a back country trip this summer and fall to fine tune my gear for my Dall hunt in AK next fall. I tried a Durston 2P last fall and really liked it so I know I can handle trekking pole supported designs. Now I want to trim some weight off my pack weight and try a tent that...
Would love to but when you have to travel from NC to do so, it’s harder to get a green light from the family without a tag in your pocket. I’ll likely do this more when my kids are older and can tag along to backpack and camp during the summer.
I don’t disagree with this and in most states, my goal is to hunt more often than to hold out for the top unit. I’ll do the same in WY and draw (hopefully) a good unit with 10-11 pts vs holding out for max several yrs later. After that, it’ll prob be a general unit every time I can draw it.
Out of principle alone with how I feel like the outfitter rule for NRs is downright criminal, I refuse to use an outfitter to hunt it. There’s not a more unfair rule for NR in all of the west IMO.
Hey guys,
My wife has 7 pts and is considering burning them next yr in WY for elk. She turns 40 in May and wants an adventure haha. I’ve been doing the typical research on gohunt trying to find some options and I’ve found some but I easily get frustrated with the NR wilderness rule. I guess do...
