    Daughters stud bull

    My daughter and I had a blast this year on her elk hunt! We hunted our butts off, had some really low lows and some incredible highs. Glassed this old bull up in a dark timber canyon and she made a great shot at 357 yards. Thanks to those that offered advice on this hunt.

    Lets talk elk and broadheads.

    What about 312 FPS with a 390 grain arrow? Did the trick for me..🤷‍♂️ IMO speed is always better than logs for arrows.

    Gear Choices for Idaho Hunt

    I would go with a 0 degree bag. I have spent lots of nights in the Idaho backcountry in September. I use kings Camo XKG ridge pants, down coat and hoody, rain gear if the forecast says it can be wet. I use a six moon designs single man tent.

    I hate training dogs, but I love running dogs. My young dog Mike is starting to do a really good job. In the last month we went from ripping birds to killing birds. I prefer to let the birds do most of my training for me.
