It's been a long time since I've hunted the Taylor but if I didn't have an atv for access, I'd find a spot where there are no trucks and the surrounding terrain is fairly open. Hike in as far as you think is manageable in case you shoot a caribou and find a ridge to sit and glass. If there are...
I'll never understand the NR guide rule, the whole safety thing is just a line of BS that the guide industry used to justify it. When a NR guide has to hire a guide to hunt sheep, goat or bear, you know it isn't about safety, it's about the money.
I'll put it to you this way, he's done some things over the years that might make you think twice about flying with him. I've done a fair amount of fly in hunts over the years and he's one person that I could never fly with, no matter the cost.
I paid for Larry's services back in 2007 for a 2 man float hunt for moose on a remote river in northern Ak. I can tell you from experience that it is worth the money to pay for his services. We managed to shoot a 52" bull and passed up one that was probably close to 65" right at the start of the...
No sheep tags for us this year, I think I must have run my luck out when I drew DS204 2 times in 3 years, sure would like to see the wife draw one for a change.
For anyone that's drawn the DS204 tag, if you happen to be hunting up Riley Creek or Jarvis, swing by our camp (The Taj Mahal) and...
I know I'm not Larry but I've got a lot of experience with these bags and moose. Get a set of the large Tag Bags and I suggest, if at all possible, do not debone your moose. Leave it on the bone as it will crust over nicely that way, with loose meat in the bag the meat does not get good air...
I'll second the WACH as well, lots of animals in that herd and if you're willing to drop the coin on a good air taxi your odds of bagging a nice bull are very good. I also Recommend BRA out of Bettles, fly to Bettles using Wright Air Service out of Fairbanks. Good luck with whatever you choose.
Still looking for one of these, I know they are getting harder to find in Mtn Mimicry but if you have and are thinking about selling it let me know. Would like to find one before I leave for my moose hunt on the 29th.
Crap, I just noticed that this was for the XTherm, not the XLite, which is what I bought my wife.
I just checked the price on the Ex Therm, it is $199.99 reg price, after adding the coupon it was $159.96.
