Don’t forget to consider how they feel in your hands. I used to have an excellent pair of Nikon HG bins that Inever liked the feel of and I always ended up grabbing something else.
This year I used 15X56 SLCs and 10x42 NLs, and the 15's were clearly the winner. I just bought 12X50 Meoptas and I'm anxious to see where they fit in. I think you would find that your 15s are much better for what you want. I love my NL's but the clarity is not dramatically better than other...
Back to the birding forums…. I have never tried the Vortex UHD’s but on those forums they say the clarity compares to the Swaro ( much to my surprise).
My 15x Binos are the 15x Swaros and they will need to go back this spring for the third or forth time because they are losing collimation randomly.
Oddly, my 15X56 Swaros have been great until this year. After a hunt I looked through them and felt cross-eyed. I'm not aware of any impact to...
I’m an optics nut and this is the first I’ve heard of Revic, which means I wouldn’t buy it regardless of how good it looked. I’ve bought great new brands before (Zen Ray) and loved them until they broke and they all did. Got a replacement and then they went out of business. It looks like...
An apology and trying to explain their side might have been somewhat effective about 373 posts ago. By now there are so many other Fierce stories that the only effective response would be that they sold the company to someone with some credibility.
That was actually one of the comments in the story. Some goof in a gillie suit. On the other hand it’s every bit as convincing as all the other evidence.
On a side note, I gave polygraph exams for almost 40 years and yes they are fallible. Especially if you shop for a quack.
From what I have read on the birding forums the Vortex UHDs compare favorably to the Swaro’s, but never buy them new. Resale on the Vortex is crap, the Swaros will keep their value. I have the NLs and love them, but of course they are overpriced.
Lawyers. Every design generates a lawsuit so we keep getting new designs and new companies that manufacture them and hire more attorneys to cover their butts.
Exactly. All extended warranties pay a sweet commission to the salesman, pay staff to process and occasionally pay claims, and they make a profit after all that. Occasionally someone comes out ahead but not often. If you want to invest in extended warranties buy their stock not their policy.
I have too many binoculars and absolutely love the the alphas, but I would have a hard time saying that the NL's are "worth" $1500 more. I doubt very much that you will see more game, but you might enjoy the search a little more. I justify the upgrade by thinking that the Swaros won't lose...
Fogging....any optic is going to fog from cold to hot and vice versa. When it's -20° and I'm in my deer stand with my balaclava on and I pull my binos up, yeah the condensation from my breath fogs them up. But 10-12 yrs ago, I had some Bushnells that were "100% fog resistant" and they did the...
I use 10 rechargeable nimh batteries in my Banshee and they work OK but take forever to charge and there is no level indicator to tell if they need to be charged or if I'm overcharging them. FoxPro has an expensive ($85) lithium ion battery but they offer VERY little information on it. I can't...
