    Carrying a pistol while scouting

Been using mine for 2 years now, no issues whatsoever except the tensioning screw fell out. The owner had me loaded up with screws within a few days at no cost. Can't say enough about them.

    Carrying a pistol while scouting

"pistols and revolvers and shotguns and rifles stashed everywhere in various towns I hang out at." - Are you actually Jason Bourne....?

    Carrying a pistol while scouting

Can second Ivory Holsters. Great product and great service. Why not carry a sidearm? My Kova-whatever can probably fight off a mountain lion with his/her/their bare hands, but for us mere mortals better to have one and not need it...

    Bino Tripod

BTT, I was in the same shoes as you. It is definitely worth getting a tripod if you are planning on doing a good bit of glassing. Stability looking over big country makes such a big difference. Weight and durability are a big deal over the long run, but like Guns said, just get in the game...

Crossing State Park Boundary to access BLM

It gets real weird with some of the city and state land - seems like you might've found the answer already, but making a call or two can definitely save you trouble. The BLM office in charge of the region should be able to help or refer you.

Hunt Quietly - Matt Rinella's new website and podcast

It all seems so simple. Stop posting on social media, just delete it. Then create an anonymous account on a niche internet forum. Couldn't be easier.

Colorado - Alpha Female Wolf is missing

You guys should tune into the two podcasts Blood Origins did with one of the ranchers up around Walden who is being hit pretty hard by the pack. Pretty interesting hearing the rancher's experience dealing with CPW and the "pro-wolf" orgs.

    What is everyone's career choice??

Interested to hear if you're able to share the hunting side of your life with co-workers. Have found it a very tight rope to walk in the tech world.

    John Barklow/Knowledge from Storms

Can 1000% endorse Barklow. The outdoor industry reeks of self-promotion and narcissism, John is a breath of fresh air. Real dude, real advice. Has answered all my random questions, and seems like he is quick and happy to help anyone.

    Creepy experiences in the backcountry

Totally agree. However, that morning I was headed into thick bear and cat country planning on making prey noises, so I was carrying a sidearm as well as my 12 gauge and I think that played a part in feeling comfortable stopping. In hindsight, was probably not the best decision to stop, but all...

    Creepy experiences in the backcountry

Yeah I'm not saying he was following following me, could have easily been coincidence, and that was only for the first few miles before I ran the red light. As for the robbery I was freaking out about that initially, once I saw her face, and listened to her story I knew it was just a tragic...

    Creepy experiences in the backcountry

This might be a long one... Was headed out early this past Saturday to enjoy the CO turkey opener. Planned on making a weekend out of it and was going to backpack in north of the Pouder river. As I was making my way down the winding road along the river, I saw a woman waving her arms...

Backcountry camping. Do you worry about black bears?

Food hung and a handgun in close proximity set my fears at ease. Also, an OTC bear tag in your pocket is better than bear spray.

Colorado Black Bear - Draw or OTC?
