I've gone back and forth whether I'm going to take it again or not. Last time it was nice to have the pants for the morning cause we were walking through waist high grass soaked in dew. But I never needed it for actual rain. I will for sure bring it to the trail head but will prob be a game time...
I think it depends greatly on where you are hunting. If you've got lots of snakes or pack rats chewing holes in your stuff, I wouldn't mess with it. Although I did hear Snyder say that if a rat wants in, hes going to get in and a floored shelter just makes it harder for them to get out.
I'm...
Same, internet had me scared the unit was going to be a zoo. Hiked in with 3 people for the first half mile or so then they stopped and said they would just setup camp there. After day 2 there was a tent next to ours and I was going to be pissed but it was just 2 guys on an early rifle muley...
I bought an exo for my first hunt, I though it was good not great. I never felt like it was adjusted right even after talking with Steve at exo (great guy btw). Borrowed my buddies kifaru frame that he adjusted to me and that seemed to be the ticket. Bought one and haven't looked back. Buy once...
I'd like to see the breakdown of BHA, i'm a member but haven't done a ton of research. Seems like most of their campaigning is on social media vs the "boots on the ground" type of thing you were describing
Are they selling coordinates? Its my first time going out and I would just be amped to see one. Of course, I'm not looking for honey holes either, just a good place to start looking. A user named agreentree told me about rocky mountain national park but it looks very pressured by tourists
This is the copper spur 4 pretty sure its like 6 pounds so not bad. Didnt use it in snow so I can't attest to the previous comment about it but it was pretty sweet for 3 people. Worked at a BA dealer so we could demo any of their products for free just had to return them
If you're really on a budget, I've heard good things about the costco cascade carbon trekking poles, they're on amazon too. I've never used them though
If I remember correctly, I searched through the leftovers last year and struggled to find one in a unit with good access to public ground. Found a couple that had a small chunk here and there but nothing I could commit to
It does thank you. I went the other way with my staps and I think I found the indent in the webbing where I had them sitting before and it feels a lot better
Let a buddy use my frame now I’m having issues getting it back to where it’s comfy. It feels like the lumbar pad is riding on my ass.. I keep adjusting the shoulder straps shorter but now my load lifters are bottomed out on the 3 bar slider which is bottomed out to the stitch line. Anyone know...
I've been hunting more on the ground recently than in a stand. I think its more fun. But I also hunt primarily public so I'd be setting up/taking down a stand every time which can be loud if you're clumsy like me
I used to wear sunglasses but I haven’t as of lately. Unrelatedly there’s some Oakley flak jackets lying around somewhere in unit 14 CO if anyone has seen them
