If you glass enough country you will find deer. All that country is pretty much the same so deer won’t really be concentrated to any specific areas. Other than weekends pressure will likely be pretty low
I run all stealth cameras but various different models and have got 1.5-2 years battery life out of most of them. I only use energizer lithium ion batteries and each camera has 2 cards designed to it so as to not switch cards around between cameras. I set them to 3 pic burst with 30 second...
Sounds like a very solid plan. The small overlooked areas are honestly usually the best. Google earth is a great tool but don’t write off an area just because of what it looks like on that. The area I hunt in western S.D. looks pretty mundane on google earth and it is anything but in person.
I run about 25. 10 at a spot a hunt a couple hours from home and the rest at various spots closer to home. All stealth cams with lithium ion batteries that are our year round. Have had batteries last 2 years on some of the newest cameras
I really like the advice of glassing the same animal over and over again. If possible you should move to a different area and glass it then come back to where you know a deer is bedded and relocate it. It’s amazing how different a deer can look just depending on time of day and the angle of the sun
I’ve also never had luck with decoys, just scare them away the second they see it. Spot and stalk is my favorite way to hunt them. My advice would be if the antelope aren’t in a really good spot to try a stalk don’t even try it. Be patient until you find one in a good spot then go for it...
The hunting and fishing suck but they have the 2 best tourist attractions in the country. Wall drug as already has been mentioned and the WORLDS ONLY corn palace in Mitchell. Any true American should spend at least a week of vacation at each in their life. Unforgettable experiences
Archery- bucks in the last 8 years have been between 6 and 63 yards. Only 1 was over 40 yards and 2 of them have been less than 10 yards. All spot and stalk in South Dakota. I hunt where I live and work so spend the vast majority of my time waiting to find a buck in a perfect spot and make a...
