Does Rinella not allow a gun to be carried on his hunts?

I bet because of where they were, he didn't feel the need to have a pistol, but didn't want to take the holster off. I know with my pack I hate putting on and taking crap off the hip belt.

How Do You Brew Your Coffee?

Feel like a heathen here, but I just do the Keurig thing. For out hunting I use either the Dark Timber bags, or some Starbucks instant if I'm feeling like having some foo-foo coffee (White Chocolate Mocha) or Basic White Girl (Pumpkin Spice Latte). I'm not ashamed!

    JRE 1763

I have it saved to listen to, he was my Regimental Commander for my first deployment, and he had the respect of every trooper there. Met him many times and had some great discussions with him that were different than any I had before or after with a Colonel or higher.

    19½' Cedar Strip Kayak

Great work! 3 of us did a strip canoe for our senior project in woodshop. Was a very rewarding thing to do, wish I had it!

    Sitka Let Down.

It is a very old form of hunting. Just because it doesn't fit your ideal of hunting, doesn't make it not hunting. The amount of work put into training and maintaining the dogs, to the work put into following the dogs until an animal is treed, is far more effort than other forms of hunting...

    Anybody rucking?

I started back up recently, I do about 30 pounds in my SO Saker. Will slowly work up the distance and the weight and be going pretty far with a good amount of weight before the season, but right now it's pretty easy to work back into it, post holidays.

Christensen Actions Suck - Or Just Mine Does?

No experience with that rifle, but years ago I bought a Ruger 77 MkII That had a really rough action. I spent a lot of time while watching TV or whatever just cycling the action. It has really smoothed out and is probably one of my smoothest rifles I own now. Of course I think my rifle was in...

    Boot for bad ankles

I broke my tib and fib on both legs, left side compound, and smashed my left ankle between a guardrail and my motorcycle in an accident. After trying lots of different types, I went with the Zamberlan 980's. The tall stiff boot really helps give my ankle support.

Unfollowing Hunting Social Media Will Make Hunting Better: Matt Rinella Essay

You make some very valid points. On the other side, I'm sure he knew some of what he was getting into, having his brother on, with alcohol in the studio... Part of me wonders if it was all done for the controversy. Have him on, create some more controversy and generate some more hits.
