Yeah thats a bit of a drive. Haha.
I believe I have the 26" likely based of the recommendation off the website. I am 6' tall. I can take more photos when I am at home of the configuration and see if maybe that would help giving you a better idea what I did wrong. I appreciate you help.
Thats how I felt. And yes the heaviest stuff was high, meat was in between the frame and pack, head and cape were on top/back. I just couldn't seem to get everything situated.
I think I bought the large frame, so 26?, I can't remember now, the load lifters in the 2nd photo are as high as they go on the frame without some customization with 550 cord (which was considered.) Is there a way to move the hip belt up?
It was miserable. And yeah it has those, I ended up reconfiguring the pack and that helped but I just couldn't get enough lift out of them. The way they are sewn I couldn't get them any tighter.
First of all, this isn't meant to bash or badmouth or put any kind of shame on this company. Just my experience and I am looking to see if there is something I can do to fix it before I go shopping for another pack system.
I have been running a Kifaru Reckoning for about as long as they have...
Thats a dandy! Especially for that hunt. Congratulations. Man, it was tough this year. Seems every year it's just a little crazier. Those PNWild boys need to quit posting videos its getting way too popular.
To find seating depth I like to run 2 shots ea per each length and shoot them both in a group that generally tells me everything I need to know about seating depth and doesn't use as many components. I used to start at jam and work my way back .010 at a time but recently watched a Cortina video...
I haven't spent much time in 27 but i have in 26 deer hunting. All the elk were in or around green, living timber with water in the same drainage. While this sounds simple there is a ton of dead, burned out areas and expanses of land with nothing more than grass and rocks. Hopefully that helps...
I get what you are saying with for a sheep rifle, i guess our ideas of a "Mountain" rifle are different. I've never been to Alaska to hunt sheep or goats, but I have spent a lot of time in sheep and goat country I can tell you if I do make it up there my rifle will have a nightforce as the...
Not sure where you're from but most guys that swear by NF spend a lot of time in the mountains, i live in the mountains and spend 20 days under a backpack every year and I can tell you if 10 oz of scope brakes you on a mountain hunt you shouldn't have been on the mountain to begin with.
I was resistant to Nightforce. I tried about every major brand out there including a Mark 5 over the last 10 years and the only scope I haven't replaced with a nightforce so far has been a Tract Toric. The Mark 5 failed and it never saw a hard drop, but it did experience some bumpy atv rides.
Just got this back from the Smith. 22" Barreled 30 Nosler. I got 2850 with 215 Bergers and 2780 with 225 eldms before sending off to get a Plus P Chamber.
I have a pair of Zamberlans that started leaking on me at the end of last season, only lasted me 3 years, but i get to hunt about 40 days a year. Still in good shape but keeping water out is important to me. I live by the Hoffman's factory so I just picked up a pair of their explorers and I...
