I love mine. I also made a strap out of Para cord. It goes in pocket on hikes in the dark, then slip in on my wrist the rest of the day. I've never worried about losing it in the field.
Ill be after them in early Oct across the border in OK. I think I will try to start a mineral site this next week. Do bear come into minerals? We can't bate here either but minerals are ok. Our season only last a month so hopefully I can get on one.

It has never bothered me. I walk in the dark so much during waterfowl season that I'm use to it. The mountains are no different than the marsh. Both have things that go bump in the night. If I ever get to hunt in Grizz country it may change my thinking a little though.
Gotcha. I know some guys were talking about using another big bag in between the nomad. From looking at the EMR I didnt think that would work to well with the bat wings it has by itself.
That was one feature I liked about the new one. Seems like you could adjust it to have your top cam pretty low to keep from hanging on limbs an such. I'm thinking about going with the Nomad, a lid, and the grab-it 2. Maybe a camp bag later. I have several dry sacks I'm going to try before I...
