This is what I used to bond my pic rails. I’m pretty sure it’s simply rebranded 380 at a significant discount. I was impressed with the bond when I tried to take off pic rail without heat. I wish I did a drop test with no screws holding the rail down. I think it might have held up to the impacts.
I agree this is a scenario when having enough “wallop” is beneficial once you have the barrel vice on properly. My first tikka was a struggle but dry wall tape, cranking the bolts on my vice until they stopped, and a 5lb sledge with one hit did the trick. Actually I had a sore foot after due to...
I got lucky and happened to jump right to it. I didn’t remember the reason why the bullet was stuck and was looking back for that reason. I don’t know why I couldn’t remember the scenario it was only a year ago.
I guess we have different opinions of what throwing a rifle on the ground or “beating the crap out of his rifle” means. I agree with you on the initial drop on the rocks that had potential to cause significant damage to his scoped rifle. So I feel like he was doing a reasonable function test...
You didn’t understand correctly. You read what you wanted to read. The on purpose drops were 18inches on a pad over snow, and I doubt he intended to drop test over rock mid hunt. I don’t think a lot reasonable person would call the 18 inch drops abuse.
He said that in episode 2 around the 33:00 minute mark. He was doing some extreme testing when the bullet got stuck. He didn’t mention that it was a round count thing. It was likely a low pressure test.
It took me about 5 minutes to take off my rail and clean it up.However, It was confidence inspiring to see how strong the bonding was when I tried to remove the rail without a torch.
