I sold my UL and am patiently waiting for a new Arrowhead custom build. The 300 XLD shot great for me. I bought a sizer and sized them so that they could be loaded with one hand but with a fair bit of force. I would still be shooting them if I kept the same rifle.
I have decided to go with a custom Muzzleloader build from Arrowhead rifles. I am keeping my .50 caliber Knight Disk Extreme for Colorado but have sold my Ultra lite. I have a Knight 1 in 20 twist .45 caliber barrel and action with bolt that has a new Bestill breach plug system. It is black...
I am selling my Knight .45 caliber Ultra-Lite with the Nitride finish. This muzzleloader has had less than 50 rounds shot through it. It is an amazing shooting rifle with Arrowhead 300 grn XLD bullets. I have decide to go with an Arrowhead custom build and I am trying to make room for a new...
I had the same problem. I believe the breech plug is not bottomed out. I had to make sure the plug was all the way down before it would work. I got a Bestill breach plug and it works great now.
I have never tried the Thor bullets. However, I have heard good things about them. I have had great shooting results with the two bullets I mentioned. I tried several bullets with my new rifle and settled with the bullet sized to my bore and the 300 grn XLD bullets for the .45 caliber Knight.
I have only had hang fires with BH 209 and my knight disc extreme with the red plastic jacket. Since I switched to the bare primer and a wad…I have not had an issue. I know there are a lot of people with a lot more experience than me so take it for what it’s worth…I would always use some type...
That is a great idea for a test. I never thought of that and I was more worried about them just opening and spilling powder. I am going to try this to see how mine do with a flour test,
The bottom group is a 3 shot hundred yard group. The upper group is a 9 shot group after a small adjustment on the scope. I am starting to get a fair bit of blowback on the primers and velocity is dropping a little bit. I have done the shimming and was getting clean primers the first time at...
I am currently working up a load for my .45 Knight Ultra-Lite. I tried the 300 grn Parker Ballistic Extremes. They shot ok…I had much better luck with the Arrowhead 300 XLD.
I would not hang my hat on this but…I just got a Knight Ultra-Lite and they shipped he rifle about 3 weeks after I placed my order. I know their website says 8-10 but I got a nitride rifle much faster. Just FYI…

I wrapped it the right direction…It’s just a very tight fit. Completely different than my Disc Extreme. Thanks again for the help. It’s shooting very well.
