Another for the OR. I’ve had the mt. Baker model for years, it’s bulletproof and lifetime warrantied. I’d downsize these. I’m a large normally but go with medium and still use a liner.
I’ve tried the double bag and it’s a no go for me. I think it smashes the insulation on the inner bag and ends up being colder. I was better off putting my down bag on top of the second bag.
A down blanket, like a rumpl, used inside the bag, makes thing toasty. Same with wearing puffy...
Didn’t seem to be. We were on a rafting trip and the shuttle service recommended the open hood. Most vehicles at the trailhead had hoods up, propped with a stick 1 1/2-2 ft, not wide open.
Parked at a trailhead in Montana, all the rigs had their hoods propped open. This discouraged the pack rats that were in the area from hanging out in there…
Yep, units on fire and the forest is currently closed to access. Looking like I’m plan b at this point. It’s a bummer. Dreams of walking upright through the woods are being replaced by crawling through coastal jungle…😬.
I was on the SF Flathead in Montana and a loose herd came through our camp. They were an outfitters and just were loose grazing. A couple had bells around their necks, most were branded. Was surprised to see them but must be the norm. They rolled in the dust in some well used spots, hung out...
Don’t know specific numbers, but I see sheep every time I float it, more in some spots to others. Great time to fish steelhead. Some class 3’s and maybe a 3 + in the Mack’s to mouth stretch. Fairly straightforward rapids with some skill on the oars and a good guidebook. Have fun!
