Trijicon Huron 3x9x40 Drop Eval
My review of the Trijicon Huron 3x9x40 1” SFP
This scope was purchased new by me from Optics Planet late last year while on sale. The reticle is a BDC style duplex, SFP. I am shooting on my land off a bench to a target 107 yards away.
The scope was mounted...
A quick update. I had time to reshoot the S&B 6 on a different size target. I used the original drop test target and added 4" stickers. I either had a better day shooting or my 10 shot group improved by 2/3 MOA.
I then proceeded to drop test again to determine if my groups improved...
I moved the Arkens I have to my 10/22's and they have been excellent. Turtles in my tank have no clue. They are a little large for the frame, but the large turrets make it easy to dial.
I had a higher end Althon ($750) and sold it. Glass had a lot of glare and made it difficult to obtain a...
I would strongly recommend a threaded barrel for a suppressor regardless of the chambering you choose. The suppressor allows shooting to be enjoyable.
IMO the 6.5PRC may be the best option. I like the 280, but ammo availability may be an issue. I do want a 7PRC. I just don’t need a 7...
I have plans on testing the Nikon 1.5x6 . I purchased the scope from the bargain cave at Cabela's in 2004. Also makes me curious about some of the newer LPVO options. Unfortunately many of those options have "tactacool" reticles. .
My review of the original Schmidt & Bender fixed 6.
This scope was purchased by me used from the forum. The reticle is a #8 heavy duplex with very thick lines. I am shooting on my land off a bench to a target 107 yards away.
The scope was mounted following recommended RS procedure. Everything...

Worth a read and we may know more in the coming weeks. I shipped my RS1 to Ryan for testing. Also working on ordering a RS2. 2x10x38 as a set and forget option. At least it is getting me...
They accurized 3 rifles for me. This was back when the price was $475 for a bedding, action true up, recrown and trigger job. I know one of the Smith’s there and he did the work. All 3 rifles were shooters. They have since scaled out and prices grew with them. I can’t speak for them today...
I have an itch to test the Maven R2 2x10x38 and compare it to the Tri Credo 3x9x40. Both 1” tubes , SFP with same target market. $500ish set and forget. I have the Credo and will test it when time allows. If funds allow I’ll pick up the RS2 and see how it performs.
The RS 1 has been tested and I just shipped mine to Ryan today. Should be in his hands next week.

Let’s hope it holds up to @Form.
I would really like to try the Maven 2.5x10 1” model and...
I had a MVP in 223 and could not get it to group under 2.5". I did everything sort of bedding it and sold it. I do have a MVP in 308 I picked up in a trade and use with a thermal. The pro's for the rifle are the 16" barrel for suppressor and AR mags. The 308 shoots minute of hand warmer...
PM'd Ryan. I would like to put this in the mail in the next few days.
I am amazed no one commented on this thread considering all the consternation from the previous conversations. Granted this model may not be useful to the dialing crowd, but set, forget and use holdover it should...
